| So, what was the first volume of manga that you actually shelled out money for? (Hope this doesn't duplicate an older thread.) ------------- For me, it was Fullmetal Alchemist, vol 19. I got impatient waiting for my library to process it, so I tromped to the bookstore and bought it for myself. It was definitely worth it. (Now I have 82 volumes of manga in all, though lots of it was bought used.) |
| Mine was Bleach special~color bleach. I actually got it as a present from a friend of mine and didn't paid for it, the first one I actually bought myself is sorceres&secretaries, even thogh I still didn't read it. In my library there aren't a lot of magna, there is only volume 1 of Toradora, and volumes 1-11 of Vampire knight.Probably from an otaku that had lots of manga and decided to give some to our library XD  |

| Chibi Vampire v. 1. It sounded super-cute. It's held up to the test of time (I think I bought it 4 years ago)- I still really enjoy it, though not quite as much as when I first read it. |

| Please Save My Earth and Happy Mania - I did not know what I was doing at all, I was just attracted to their covers. That would have been sometime in 2004 when I twelve. D: Neither of them got me into manga though. Happy Mania was wildly inappropriate for my age group and I was horrified to find out that Please Save My Earth had lots of volumes that I could not afford to buy. |

| I was once in a charity shop searching for cheap university books (uni' books are exceptionally expensive to the point of ridiculous!) when I saw volume 3 of One Piece sitting on it's own, I though to myself; 'what are you doing there?', so I bought it. ;) I liked One Piece anyway, but this manga volume is exceptionally fun - it has a competition in it, a cut out puzzel and authors notes. |
