Heck, the world's full of people just like us. Simple enough but surprisingly profound when you look at things differently or from a bigger perspective. :-D Ah it's finally over, I did not expect that I would be at peace with the ending of this show but Daikichi's last words were comforting and a very good assurance for me. I'm gonna miss seeing this anime every week. This series is 9/10 for me as well. ![]() You see there's no need to wonder where your god is, Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy. |
Shocking how good something so seemingly simple can be... I only picked up this show cause I saw a picture from the first episode and kinda liked the style of it - has ended up being my favorite show of this season (a shared 1st with Natsume Yuujinchou-san =D)... Rin is just the cutest thing, Daikichi 100% believable and likable - and kouki...don't even get me started <3 Hell, I've already started reading the manga just to see what happens next - gief another season pretty please! 9/10 - and crazy close to the big 10/10 ![]() |
Absolutely loved this show from the first episode to the last, Rin has got to be one of the most adorable character's I've ever seen in an anime, and Daikichi is a character that you just love to pull for. Definitely one the most heart warming anime you'll ever see. One of the better anime this year for sure. 9/10 ![]() [color=#3399CC]All credit goes to Daika-san. |
Rin's faces. RIN'S FACES. THOSE FACES OMIGOSH MOAR! I don't care what happens in the manga. However terrible it may be, this story deserves to be animated till the very end, I'm certain. If it wasn't based of anything, like, an original anime, it would be alright, but feels wrong just to leave it hanging when you know there's much more. Season 2, immediately! ![]() |
A nice end. There would have been chaos had they thrown in the second half of the manga into this [season]. It would have taken away all that innocent atmosphere. So a second season would be nice [not that I actually read the whole second half...I did like the end.]. And then people can choose to avoid it at will or be curious about how it would continue when Rin has gotten older. ![]() |
It was pretty charming and cute though my only problem was that nothing gets resolved at the end and there was really no plot going on. So for that it gets an 8/10. ![]() |
Yumekichi11 said: This being said the series gets a 10/10 Masterpiece from me. Like Steins Gate, this anime in its genre totally impressed me and Rin is the cutest thing out there yet. totally agree.. i just couldn't afford to give it a 9..a 10 is the only rating I gave from ep.1..and it is one of the anime which will not make you bored..and it's simple yet realistic (and cute) way of making us reminisce our childhood days is so perfect :D ![]() |
Whomever licenses this on blu-ray or dvd in the states will definitely make some money on me. Maybe this show is a massive conspiracy to get single guys to pine for parenthood / possible marriage? heh. If so it is pretty effective. I really love everthing about this show. ![]() |
Is it me, or was that ending kind of weak? I mean, it was as good as any other episode, which is even particularly good, but for an ending, there wasn't really any resolved conflict, or even any emotional overflow. I think I would have at least liked to see Daikichi and Yukari start dating. I think it's a shame that I watched Aishiteruze Baby so recently. The inevitable comparison is certainly there, and I think I enjoyed Aishiteruze Baby more, although Usagi Drop was unquestionably better as a production. And to be fair, Aishiteruze Baby had the same ending issue I found in Usagi Drop. Still though, both series, very worthwhile. Overall: Solid 9/10 Alright, I've been avoiding discussions throughout the season since it was always a game to dance around the dreaded manga spoilers that everyone speaks so poorly of. I guess now that I've gotten my full enjoyment out of the series, I should go and see what all the fuss was about... You know, given all the outrage over it, that was pretty much my first guess. And yes, it's as dumb as everyone says it is. Given the nature and tone of what I've seen, there seems to be no reason for such a drastic change in direction. Despite the mildly underwhelming ending, I'm glad the anime approached the content the way it did. Big points for another great noitaminA series. ![]() |
Very very nice series... I still feel weirded out that such a nice heartwarming series was recommended to me at fakku of all places... lol. Easily 10 out 10 for me and beat Steins;Gate for best anime of 2011 personally... Dunno whether it'll stay there after Fate/Zero and Gundam AGE though.... Damn, I feel like having a kid after watching this. Is there any news about 2nd season?? The manga goes all the way until Rin in High School, right?? ![]() |
Wow...can't believe it's been a year! I thought Rin looked like a cat, a very cute one, too. A perfect way to end such a great anime, but I do wish there was more. From what I've been hearing of the manga, I don't think I'd want something following that, but something like what we've been seeing would be so nice. There would be some DaikichixYukari, Kouki, Rena, and Rin cuteness, humor, and so. much. cuteness. ^_^ I'll miss it. Until the specials, then... ![]() |
It's over. :( Are the sales number good? Are we getting a second season? If not, what chapter in the manga should I start off with? Anyway, Usagi Drop - 8.5/10 ![]() |
The first anime series that I've given a 10 out of 10 rating to here. Its so heartwarming because it is dealing with real emotions that are meaningful. Now, I can finally start the manga - I've got the first 3 volumes in English lined up already. I might buy the soundtrack too - the music, especially the OP and ED, are fantastic. ![]() |
10/10 and made me want a daughter of my own, which i strongly refused to ever have until now ._. ![]() |
Oh, I'm so glad they completely ignored the manga post time-skip. <3 ![]() |
Wonderful series, but meh-ish ending, was pretty disappointed. I never cared for Daikichi's relationship with Nitani. Instead, I wanted to know more about Masako, Rin's real mother. I wanted to know more about the real reason she left Rin behind, and what she's doing now. I wanted to know if Rin will ever know about the truth. But instead we got an episode on Rin losing her teeth. Oh well. It was great while it lasted, but I'm disappointed because it could have been so much better. I did like the ending song and the animation for this episode, though. ![]() ![]() Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol. |

I did like the ending song and the animation for this episode, though. Real reason?? She left her because she was still immature and want to draw manga.... There's no plot twist here (well, unless what I heard about the manga is true) she left her simply for the stated reason. This anime is very character driven, and that's the focus... I love Daikichi x Yukari pairing, but I still smiled and felt fuzzy all over by the time this anime ends, even when there's no conclusion to their relationship. I still pray for 2nd season, tho. ![]() |
this show was awesome im sad its over but i gave it a 10! Rin is so adorable and i love how daikichi would react when he is shocked and the art work was the best Rin's face when she is happy or upset was so simple but perfect and made it more adorable. ![]() - Marissa Chan! |
Bren said: I liked the anime a lot, but I have a feeling that something's missing.. I just don't know what xD I guess cause I'm used to watch anime's where a lot of things happen, and these events are just ordinairy daily lives things Technically it hasn't concluded, so. ![]() |
the ending just great but if they really want to do 2nd season, please make an appropriate ending i dont understand why there are people who actually LIKE the manga ending ![]() |
