The Emiru he adores and fell in love with is the actual monster....or is it vise versa? This story just keeps getting even more twisted.

I'll assume what he meant by her being dead a couple chapters back means they just killed off half her personality.

I'm guessing the child side won out, but she lost her despair.

I think the monster is the manifestation of her despair of not going to heaven to meet her parents. And the 4 yr old girl was "eaten" by that despair. Therefore the 4 yr old personality is the girl's despair now. And it thrives in a place deep inside her heart, but since the emotions are so strong it becomes a split personality that could take over the person's mind and body occasionally.That's my view.

Strangely, the present Emiru does not think that she's the real Emiru. Maybe it has something to got to do with after she lost her memories at about 4, she was told that she's called Emiru, taking on a different personality and memory.

I agree with what Dunkjoe is saying here. She has a dual personality so the monster is that manifestation of her despair side. Otherwise, her original personality is likely the kid she is now.

Maybe she has another personality by her other state of being..
