Seto No Hanayome.
Rated over 8. A recommendation for people who liked Baka Test.
IT'S UTTERLY TERRIBLE. I believe you know those 'pool shorts' or 'summer shorts' every anime has. Well, this whole anime is a summer short. The art was so terrible I kept telling myself 'It will be funny, don't drop it'. Guess what, IT'S NOT.

Durarara!! - the first half is amazing and fantastic but the second half is so boring and anti-climatic , it's maybe my biggest disappointment so far

I've gotta say Stein's Gate and Monster. I watched them based on their ratings, but they were slow, plotless and just pretty mediocre all around. If it weren't for Okarin's laugh, I would have dropped the former, and I don't drop anime. :x

My expectations were way too high for Guilty Crown... it's sad really. I didn't want to accept this, but it disappointed me greatly. There was so much potential.

Before that, my biggest disappointment was Eden of the East. I seriously did not fuckin' want these shows to suck, I wanted them to rock my face off because I saw potential in both of them to become favourites of mine. Lawd. Both by I.G. too.

Yumekui Merry .

I hated how it got into the story so well, but then the last few episodes they ended it without explaining things that they included in the previous ones.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.

This show was so captivating with it's beautiful characters (especially Erio) and I thought that maybe there was really some alien thing going on here. But when I watched and listened to them drone endlessly about something that
at the end it was just so infuriating. I even heard the ending from a friend. What a huge disappointment.

Kara no Kyoukai:
Other than sparse bursts of great music and animation, I honestly couldn’t find anything remarkable in this vaunted behemoth. A terribly simple story, elongated by largely tedious dialogue and overall slowness, cheaply spiced with a little confusion from shifting episodes around. And filled with lifeless, senseless characters. I mean, with the exception of the protagonist, I found almost everyone else blandly following their anthropomorphic duties, nothing more, “never evolving beyond their neanderthalic archetypes” as my friend put it, and never really interacting with each other so much as contrived, self-indulgent philosophising / monologuing. And scattered with bits of general nonsense throughout. And how in the end, all the series' glorifications amounted to nothing more than a fairly simple plot that really could and should have been condensed to one-fifth of its size.

The seventh movie was by far the most disappointing: the longest pile of nothing I’ve ever seen. Unless you've read the novel beforehand, I can't fathom finding anything in that endlessly slow nothing.

If you’re curious as to why I felt this way for such an exalted title, I go into a bit more detail in the first post’s spoiler here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=393411 (warning: spoilers for all KnK movies)

Toradora was just a smidge away from a ten. Not a single moment in that show was boring, the characters were almost all likable and only a few awkward drama moments tainted it's greatness for me.

Then I watched the OVA, that lunchbox thing. Maybe that was supposed to be watched somewhere in the middle? Or it's non-canon?

And it was boring. Some zany nonsense about Ryuuji trying to best a woman he's never met at making lunchboxes, going so far as to have a rice cooker going in the classroom. Maybe if I hadn't seen the show in a while I would have just enjoyed seeing these characters again.

Ano Natsu de Matteru.

Everyone told me it was really good and stuff and it feels pretty generic and boring to me. I'm trying to like it, but I just can't.
Dont touch me I'm in despair.

Yeah...Black Rock Shooter. Maybe it's just because I watched the OVA right before the first episode, but I liked the OVA a lot better than what's happening in the actual show.

Ano Natsu de Matteru isn't really that disappointing...I for one just think they don't really need that alien-crap

Although I don't watch a show long enough to be truly disappointed. I was hyped for the Bakuman anime because I read the manga, but damn its not even half as good. The scenes in the anime don't compare to the reaction faces and intensity from the everyday scenes in the manga. That's what makes the manga shine for me anyways.

UN-GO. Pacing is terrible and basically kills the series. The magic/transforming/alien/transvestite/whatever with Yui Hirasawa's voice is cringe-worthy. Another not good detective show after Gosick...

Fractale would be the latest. It is hard to disappoint me, since that would mean that I need to have certain expectations to begin with. Well, this show did manage to do it by wasting a great setting on:

-horrible scene transitions (i.e. from ecchi jokes to heavy violence)
-lackluster main cast (the main character is as interesting as a shoe)
-disappointing artwork (it looked nothing like the promotional material)

Prior to that, I think I was disappointed by Kara no Kyoukai and FMAB in 2010, so it is quite rare and I've grown more wary with my expectations over the years.

I'm fairly sure most are serious in this thread, and honestly, that's not quite so unbelievable. I didn't think too highly of the first GitS movie either, and the second one was worse for me. Great visuals, good music, good animation (though pretty sparse), but that's about it. FYI I tried both the original and the 2.0 remake, gave it an objective watch both times, but it just wasn't my slice of pie, I guess. Definitely nowhere near "bad" though, so I'll try the series eventually.

I'm also one of those people who weren't impressed by the old GitS movie. I wouldn't say that it disappointed me, but I do prefer the series myself. The director has made films that are more about entertaining the audience than just showcase animation with only theoretically interesting ideas.

I myself haven't been disappointed lately. I think I was kind of disappointed with the manga Medaka Box, but repetitively breaking the 4th wall made up for the issues it had throughout the series. It shares so much similarity with Haruhi it's crazy.

Hajime no Ippo not having another season... D:

I'm watching Ga-Rei Zero now and god what a mediocre thing I am watching... putting personal enjoyment in I'd give it a 3 or 4, thought it would be awesome after some people recommended to me highly...

I don't pretend to be a critic, so I am not disappointed often. Life is more frustrating when you spend it finding what is wrong with things rather than trying to enjoy them.

It would be nice if we could get some more plot out of Beelzebub rather than constant fillers, but I think that's a source material issue, just have to bear with it and be patient I guess.

I'm disappointed that as a result of Japanese people not knowing a great anime when they see it Chihayafuru most likely won't get a second season.

Haven't been keeping up with the new season since it didn't seem all that interesting :/ but my most recent letdown would have to be Mawaru Penguindrum. Thought it was gonna be interesting but turned out tedious.
Recommend me something. ;]

I was somewhat disappointed with the ending to Chrno Crusade (just finished it), since my friends told me that it was "amazing", but that could also be because I had just finished Clannad: AS, and any drama was going to pale in comparison..

In the end it was still a very watchable anime though :D

I'm quite serious. I found both movies enjoyable, but I just felt that something was lacking. I'm going to check out Stand Alone Complex though, I hope it doesn't fail to impress.

Eh, Ao no Exorcist. The anime had a decent premise but as it progressed, it got fucked up, mostly thanks to the fillers and annoying side characters. The ending, in my opinion, was fairly decent, unlike what you guys think. Probably the best part about the series was it's strong soundtrack. 6/10: Fair, according to me.
