I only recognize 4, 5 at most.
But all of them have pretty prominent roles at different shows.
Nice.

Surprisingly, I haven't heard any of those names above except for the one in the top. Iit's all about experience, after all.

Meh. It just has all the legendary seiyuus, simply that; the list is more like 'Most respected seiyuus of all'. Obvious since it is voted by seiyuus themselves.

No way idol/recently rising seiyuus can be on the lists.

Some of these seiyuus are there just because they voiced a legendary character, like Masako Nozawa as Goku and Takayama Minami as Conan. Meh.

yeah... i was shocked at first, but then realized it was voted by seiyu's for who they respect, so it makes sense. i can't figure out though... why is #1... #1? haha. i'm kinda new to anime, so i'm not sure what he's known for?

Gosh....I don't even know any of these people, then again, this is probably because I never really payed attention to voice actors. Anyway, congrats on the winners.

Half of the top are people who voiced characters in DB. I recognized only 1 Seiyu, Tanaka Mayumi, by looking at it.

Norio Wakamoto should be number 1! Are they seriously going to deny the voice of God the top spot? :O

What's really interesting is that the majority of them are male. Kinda shows how the industry as a whole changed in recent years. Ask an average modern anime fan to name 25 seiyuu, and I'm sure about 20 of them will be female.

Glad to see Megumi Hayashibara on the list because I respect her very much, she is someone I regard very highly as a seiyuu because of her great talent.

I'm also glad to see a number of other talented and respected seiyuu on the list like Norio Wakamoto, Hideyuki Tanaka, Noriko Hidaka, Akio Ohtsuka, Akira Kamiya, and the many other talents that have graced the anime industry with their voices. The younger generation obviously respect these individuals that have likely inspired them to become seiyuu themselves. So show respect to the older generation of seiyuu, not just the new.

Hmm, I think most of it is good. It's a Legend list. Yamadera, Nozawa, Takayama (her popularity still surprises me a bit, actually), Kappei, Suguyama, etc.

Could use some Furukawa Toshio (but we have his "rival" Kamiya Akira =D)! Also, Furuya Toru.

And Tanaka Mayumi is great too! And has a cute character.

These are legendary Seiyuu I mostly never heard of, since they were nominated by seiyuu and not fans or top brasses in the industry, there are no idol seiyuu that were nominated in this past or present so no Rie Kugumiya, Nana Mizuki, or Yukari Tamura.

Well not all anime fans pay attention to the seiyuu, a little search on this site can give them some knowledge.

This. I'm kind of offended by the comments here tbh. Seriously, are we watching the same things?

Yay! So glad to see Akiko Yajima on the list. She's one of the best Seiyu's there is and really under-rated outside of Japan in my opinion.

Glad to see them all on the list.

Too bad Mitsuishi Kotono, Aya Hisakawa, Ryo Horikawa, Yoshiko Sakakibara, and few other actors weren't included.

Also, try to watch a little more old school things, most of people here have far more recognizable voice than any younger seiyu.

Is it just me, or the amount of respect shown by MAL users are declining lately. People should at least recognize Megumi Hayashibara :/ not to mention the VA of Conan and lead singer of TWO-MIX Takayama.

alexcampos said:

We got a very respectable list here. Just because new century seiyuus are not here doesn't mean it's arbitrary.
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.
