Ok so the 1st poll is done. It clocked in with a stunning 201 votes. The #1 show was none other than Cowboy Bebop! Now for the #2 show...

#1. Cowboy Bebop

W00t! Go Bebop!

And as for my #2 vote, I have to go with Neon Genesis Evangelion.

How about putting them in alphabetical order on the next poll. Sucks going through that random list.

I'd say Naruto, but it isn't on the list. So I voted Death Note.

Why don't you just use the #2 result from the one pole? You're gonna get the same results and it results in alot less clutter?

Seems I'll be the lone Azumanga Daioh voter on this one..

Also, I LOL'ed at the fact that Mushishi and Bleach have the same number of votes.
You've come a long way, baby.

Yeah, same! It's the only anime serie I bought at the moment! Well, also because there aren't a lot available where I live...

There are really so many, but my favorite in this list is Scrapped Princess. I'm surprised that nobody voted for it. This show is fabulous! I'm not a fan of the popular animes like Death Note, Naruto, Bleach, etc. In fact, I don't watch those anymore.

The way it's being done right now will yield the most accurate results though. It may take a lot more time, but it's worth it. Although...the list itself is still flawed and wasn't fixed sadly =(

So how 'bout you go make a club and hold all the polls there. That's a great use of a the club feature and allows a more comprehensive discussion on the issue.

It's hard to say cause there's some great classics up there, but I still gotta go with TTGL, just like I did last round.

I don't see why NGE isn't getting more votes. A younger voting group, perhaps? It's probably the second most influential US anime behind cowboy bebop. I don't see that same admiration, support, and influential power from anything on that list except for maybe Death Note.

People say one of the reasons they voted for Cowboy Bebop was because it opened the doors for Anime in the America. If that's the case then NGE should be getting more votes. The same goes for Ghost in the Shell (movie) and Akira (though after checking this list, I realized neither are on it... talk about fail).

so if this is The Top 50 Anime Series Ever in the US (#2 poll)
then does that mean I can't vote, since I have no idea what's going on there?

Neon Genesis Evangelion _o_ Though I don't understand why it doesn't have more votes...just 7? Oh well, I would have voted Baccano!, but that option wasn't available.

A poll is inherently skewed because you cannot rank anything. Thus a very polarizing anime with an equally large amount of fanboys and haters will easily beat a more consistently enjoyed anime with a lesser amount of fanboys. This seems rather fruitless.

Well it's not that this poll is pointless. It's that there is no justification for half of these votes and the list itself is very poorly constructed. At this point, I don't see any point in this topic as not very many people are thinking of it in terms of their impact in America so it's really no different from the ranking on this site except that only people who post on the anime discussion forums effect the outcome.

I would also think NGE and GITS would be near the top or should be at least getting more votes. It has to a combination of impact and proper exposure in the US plus how actually good it is. It shouldn't be simply your favorite.

Boo. No Bokurano on the list. You'd think a show about dying children would be popular enough to include on a "Top #" poll.
