| Who is your favorite "Main protagonist"? As for me it's Lelouch(Code Geass). Main Protagonist- meaning the central character of the story. There is only one main Protagonist in a story with some exceptions like Durarara. So remember people the keyword is favorite 'MAIN' Protagonist. |

| Hmm...I don't want to nitpick but some of those are not really protagonists, especially the female ones. A female protagonist is not the love interest of a male protagonist. Some good examples of female protagonists are Balsa from Moriboto, Yoko from 12 Kingdoms, Clare from Claymore, etc. A protagonist is simply the character from whose viewpoint we follow the story - we get to be "inside their head" of sorts. Most of the time there is just one protagonist, sometimes there is equal focus on two, but that means that they have to share the story 50/5o (or at least 60/40). Sometimes like in Durarara, there is really no protagonist but many people share that role. To respond to the original question, my current favorite protagonist is Okarin from Steins;Gate, since he is both incredibly entertaining and very relatable - a rare breed indeed. Other favorite protagonists of mine are Light Yagami, Lelouch, Kazuma from Kaze no Stigma, Tenma from Monster and of course, Spike Spiegel. |

| From anime it would have to be either The Nameless Protagonist from Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei or Okabe Rintarou from Steins;Gate. Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya and Kino from Kino no Tabi would definitely be up there too. It's funny how you never even find out the real name of any of my favorites except for Okabe, and even he uses a fake name a lot (Kino's name is at least hinted at though they never tell you for sure). If you add in manga and light novels that don't have anime adaptations my favorite is definitely I from Zaregoto, and yet again, they never tell you his name. |

| I'm pretty surprised that Tomoya (Clannad) hasn't been mentioned yet. Although, at the moment I would probably say my favourite male protagonist is Okabe Rintarou (Steins;Gate). As for female I really like Sawako (Kimi ni todoke) as well as Saki (Hiashi no eden). |

Ultra-timid personality, utterly unable to protect her friends (for the most part), stupidly simple art design... she is pretty much the exact opposite of a competent protagonist. Noting, of course, all the bad stuff happening in the show makes her look even more pathetic. For some reason, I like that. |

| This is an impossible question, because I like so many of them for different reasons. For example, I love Gon from Hunter x Hunter for his honesty and determination, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist for his competence and dedication to his brother, and Hikaru Shindou from Hikaru no Go for his cheeky personality and his intelligence. I'll go with a current favorite, which is Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji). I love his matter-of-fact nature, his unwillingness to wallow in self-pity, his intelligence, and the fact that he is usually so calm and composed. All of it is very much at odds with his young age, and I like the strangeness of that. He's kind of an antihero, which is sometimes more interesting. |
