Anyone started to ship Claude X Yune yet? (I know I did. :P)
I've been shipping them since the first episode :3 They're just too adorable. It's not that weird either, since she's apparently 13 and I'm estimating he's 16/17.

Overall, yet another great episode. Yune was so scared, poor thing >:

Historically, it's not creepy at all and anime-wise it's typical.

In any other anime I'd be shipping a particular couple by now. Not here. I wouldn't mind if there was some romance, I guess.
If not Yune, then Camille. :3

I'm sure that even Japanese people would ignore and run past a suspicious or eccentric looking person, though I'm not sure why Yune couldn't get through to the Parisians as they wouldn't have had any reason to ignore her. Could be they didn't hear her, she should've asked a second time, but louder. Europeans aren't cruel to the point of leaving a desperate little girl to her fate. I guess it is pretty frightening, especially if you're lost and Claude's warning didn't really help her case either. Also, all little kids run to their mothers when a stranger talks to them, I think that kind of shyness is pretty universal.

Oh I really want to know if there will be a romantic aspect in this show. Claude and Yune look good together but it seems their intimacy level is just like a family. -cringes-

I hope Yune is falling for him, but who knows, she might not be. They already look like a couple sitting together eating dinner...
I am a sucker for romance!!!!

I am liking this series, especially the glance into life from a different era.
Yune is so adorable!
That's a word I rarely use as well.

TBH I hope that there's no romance going on in this anime. Would be a first, though, maybe :S (No way is Yune 13. She's like, 10, maybe ...)
Anyway, being lost sucks. Especially if you have no idea where you were. Good thing Claude found her though :P That just reminds me of all the times I've been lost lol XD
Oh and the animation looked kind of weird this episode o_O

no. She is really 13 years old, it is said on the manga XD Claude also thought she was 10.

i guess the author wanted to portray not just the culture differences but also, the way an asian and a caucasian are different in body mass, Height and appearance.

Anyway, with or without romance, ill always love this anime~~~~ its simply amazing.

Anyone know if the Nendoroids (or whatever they are) shown at the very end of the episodes are actually going to be produced? I want that Claude so badly.

I still think this is the 2nd best anime of the season, right behind Usagi Drop.

This episode was OK.

I hope that thief boy will be a recurring character in the next eps although chances are low.

Didn't expect the little boy to steal from the shop. I thought he was just purely interested in the things they sell/wants to make friends with Yune.

This is a slice of life with a good dose of culture shock is nice. I like the show so far :)

I felt so sorry for Yune this episode, and I understand because Japanese shop keepers usually are there with you till you exit the shop and want to address your every need, I understand how she feels. :'(

I think this is the first real culture shock in this anime. Personally, I do find the difference between community-based and individual-based places striking. Born and raised in America, my parents are from Southeast Asian countries, and having visited them, I can say that it's certainly more comfortable there. The mindset of isolation and distrust fosters unfriendliness and self-interests here. On top of that, it's so weird seeing commercials encouraging this, such as commercials for home security systems, self-defense weapons, neighborhood watches, movies and television shows about local criminals, and the news making it all seem commonplace. Sure there's crime in every town, but it's something that I've never liked.

I haven't been to Asia in a few years, so various westernized places could have had their mindsets changed to be more individualistic, so I don't know, I might just be talking smoke. Then again, the internet itself is an interesting beast. Now that's an enormous community, but even then, there are imaginary and non-physical borders that separate everyone, some of which that are created on purpose by people. Eh, ramblings aside, I appreciate Ikoku Meiro no Croisée for getting more into cultural differences beyond food and mannerisms at least.

I feel like I want to be like Yune and trust everyone, but after bad experiences, you think like Claude. It's sad that you can't people are always trying to dupe you all the time and you have to be so guarded.
