| OMG!!! its finally here! lol well my first experience was the OP...WHAT THE HELL!?!?! got me thinking the whole time what is it with that catchy music?!? 2) When did everyone turned into a bunch of perverts????? 3) RENA YOU LOOK GODDAMN HOT IN THAT MAID OUTFIT!!!!! 4) The true Hinamizawa syndrome basically is a virus that turns people into perverts??? 5) The end was a little more "normal" for Higurashi 6) AGAIN WITH THE CATCHY SHIT ED!!! 4/5 it was kinda good i laughed a bit (and thank god for that Rena maid scene!) but i still miss good old higurashi D: Next OVA we get to see some mahou shoujo Rika and Satoko...AND BADASS RENA <3 |

| Judging by the opening/ending, I don't think we'll be seeing anything serious so don't hold your breath. Not that I care of course, I'm just glad to see more Higurashi. :) I won't lie though, I did feel like a complete pervert after watching this. |

| Well what can I apart from say I love Higurashi. People should stop bitching about the fanservice, hasn't anyone played the visual novels? Expecting a serious story? Well you shouldn't because they quite obviously concluded it some time ago. You people make it sound as if the comedy is bad. The sudden switch they have from playful to horror is what makes Higurashi, although in this case I'm afraid you'll have to go without the horror. The next ep looks like it'll be a laugh riot. |

| this was pretty shitty, even for fanservice it was avarage and it was too unfunny for a good laugh. Had none. If there was a story with a plot in a comedy setting it would be okay but this is clearly the worst in the higurashi series so far. 2/5 because the art is okay and it still has one of the greatest charactercasts ever in animé, though they don't come to their right at any point. |

Liking or not liking something does not make you more 'true' of a fan then another. Everyone has there opinions on Higurashi, what they like and don't like, what they thought worked and what they thought didn't work in the anime. Saying that someone is not a 'true fan' for not sharing the same opinion as you is the same as saying "anyone whose opinions aren't the same as mine do not matter." Everyone has the right to state their opinion, even if, believe it or not, it's not the same as yours. That said, I say the first half of this episode is shit and I'm just as much of a fan of Higurashi as you. I'm just a 'true fan' with a different opinion. I'm not going to arbitrarily like anything with Higurashi in the name if it is horrible. As to why I didn't like it, the first half was just too ecchi with no real plot or any comedy. It was just 10-15 minutes of fanservice, nothing else. I started liking Higurashi for the plot, the drama, and yes, the murders. I didn't really care for the fanservice in it, unless it was part of the humor in the scene. That said, the second half was much better. The second half was funny and had some plot in it. |
| I absolutely love Higurashi, Rika-chama is my favorite anime character of all time, and I can safely say without any doubt, that was one of the biggest pieces of anime-related shit I have ever seen. It honestly makes me wish they never survived the Endless June. |

| Hmmm, whenever I think of the first episode of Kira, one thing springs to my mind - "what the fuck did I just watch". Indeed, it's like you're not even watching Higurashi anymore. I mean story-wise Kira has nothing absolutely nothing to do with the Higurashi series other than the fact that it has the same characters. Ooishi, Irie and Tomitake suddenly change into borderline pedophiles imagining the girls doing... many things. Okey, one example, Shion is licking Mion's boobs while they watch eagerly. Seriously what the fuck? How did this find its way into a horror/mystery anime!? Then we have the yaoi. A completely pointless and stupid scene where Satoshi pops up out of nowhere (I'll remind you that as of Rei he was still suffering from Level 5 of the Hinamizawa syndrome and was still cared for by Irie in the underground part of the clinic) and encourages Keiichi to eat a yougurt with him. w.t.f To top it off, they've made fun of the Hinamizawa syndrome itself. Apparently there's this "True Hinamizawa Syndrome" where if a person fantasises too much, he'll start having hallucinations. That ladies and gentlemen, pissed me off the most. It's something that would be perfect for an eroge series, but not an anime like Higurashi. Also, the plot is completely FUCKED up. A one legged dog with alzhaimers could have written a better one. First we have mindless ecchi/hentai/yaoi fanservice and then we suddenly jump into horror. Holy fucking shit. It's like jumping out of a sauna into a pool of iced water. I was inches away from having a cardiac arrest. Ironically, watching Kira is horrifying. Not because it's successful in being scary but because it's that fucking horrible. It's a total fuck up. Don't get me wrong though, I like comedy in Higurashi and I like to laugh once in a while but... they've taken it a bit too far. I liked Rei and Nekogoroshi-hen because they were filled with comedy but there was still a clear line between comedy and utter ridiculousness. In Kira, that line no longer exists. What a let down. So, if you're a Higurashi fan such as myself and you want to keep your good opinion about it then please don't watch this. It's not worth it. You'll only regret it later. |

| Going into this episode not taking it serious was a good idea. This was such a good way for a good laughter. All the scenes were so awesome, and especially loved the Rena one. Didn't like the fact that they used Nii Nii with Satoko. And the BL thing with Satoshi was disturbing as hell. And is it just me, or did some voices change? 3/5 |

I've played all the VNs, read the manga and watched the anime. What I'm saying is that the story progressed from being horror/mystery and psychological, to being ecchi and... damn I don't even know how to describe it, hm, shall I say bullshit? Also, I'm not so keen on the gore part of Higurashi because if I was looking for gore, I'd probably go and watch Elfen Lied. It's the mystery aspect that always intrigued me in Higurashi so why is Ryukishi07 changing the series so fucking drastically? I've never seen such a transformation in any anime. It's like Ash Ketchum suddenly taking on the role of Light Yagami with the pokemon anime changing into something that resembles death note or Bleach. It would be so stunning no one would believe it. That's why most people were stunned when they saw the first episode of Kira. As of now what DEEN and Ryukishi07 are doing could be called 'raping the series'. VN or not, Higurashi didn't start out as a perverted ecchi series where grown men fantasise about 12 year old girls. Hopefuly this will explain my point of view better to you and anyone interested in it. |
