The 13th and final episode of the first season will run next week in Japan. A Vampire Knight: Cross Academy Broadcasting Club web radio show will also premiere on July 7. On the radio show, Mamoru Miyano, Daisuke Kishio, Susumu Chiba, Junichi Suwabe, and Sōichiro Hoshi will play their fictional counterparts Zero Kiryū, Kaname Clan, Takuma Ichijō, Akatsuki Kain, and Senri Shiki, respectively

Well, whatever, they could have done a 26-episodes anime but instead they did tis, which in my opinion sucks.

Agree. I was wondering how they were going to pull off 26 episodes with the 12th episode finishing up what was in the vol.4 manga. All well, at least there is a fall series to look forward for.

I just noticed that this was a 13 episodes series... I hope the second season is better than this one.

second season is just continuation of first season series basically, since there were originally 26 series, but just divided into 2 parts

It's becoming common practice. For various reasons. With ongoing manga, it gives the source material time to stay ahead of the anime, resulting in less fillers. But it also gives the production crew a break to do other stuff, seiyuu work on other projects, accountants to tally profits and evaluate future continuations and the like. Really, it's a good practice for the industry.

I'd much rather see series split up with breaks, and each cour remain solid, good story, than for them to have to stretch it out, add filler, or just lose focus and the series drop in overall quality due to them forcing two cours out too rapidly.

Eh. Season 1 isn't catching my interest at all. That aside, I don't get why they're cutting it into two different seasons. 26 episodes isn't their thing? D:

i'm just hoping that second season will remain loyal to the manga.. and with all thy hype of bad animation.. hope second season will resolve that problem too
