This was such a great manga!

Loved the pace and atmosphere of the story. I really hope more of Urushibara Yuki's work are going to be available for us in the future.

I thought the six chapters were really good, but my interest dwindled from there. I guess I got annoyed at how the grandpa suddenly resurfaced into the real world and everyone lives even after such a dangerous event (them falling from the cliff or whatever).

I think it would have been better if someone died. :p It could just be me though. XD

Pretty great manga even with just 2 volumes it managed to create such a compelling and emotional story. I loved the art too, simplistic character designs but the background images and scenery were a visual treat.

It was a nice little touch at the end where the grandma still remember the village and sumio subconsciously at her old age.

In some way it's beautiful to witness against dementia.

This is simply beautiful. I'm astonished that this hasn't been adapted into a movie yet. It deserves it. It's subtle, yet powerful at the same time. While I was reading this, I noticed that the atmosphere of the story was reminiscent of Mushishi, so it was no surprise when I discovered that both stories were by the same mangaka. I don't understand why this work of hers is so underrated. Maybe it only appeals to a particular audience? For some reason, I felt really connected to this story.

Update: Re-read for the umpteenth time and still waiting for a movie adaptation.

It truly was unfortunate knowing Sumio died.

The symbolism behind the dragon orb was beautiful. Passed down from generation to generation, but it still retained its core.

Story was simple, characters were explored very quickly and in the most natural manner. A very powerful manga though its only 12-13 chapters long, it managed to leave an impact on me
