I'm glad I finally got around to watching this today.

The first episode doesn't seem to stray too far from the original, at least, from what I remember. However, I wonder if its going to split from it and go its own way later on....

I really liked the manga when first I read it a couple years ago. I liked it so much that I ended up translating the second volume myself (lol). Fell in love with the setting and Yune immediately. Not to mention Hinata Takeda's art is absolutely beautiful!

I can tell this is going to be very good.
Very relaxing and heartwarming.
This first episode sure has a lot going on already and the story seems to be very well developed, unlike what I expected. I am going to guess that Kimono will play a very big part in the ending.
Also Yuna is just so adorable.

Only 12 eps? Aww. I hope it just doesn't end at Yune going back to Japan or something. There's almost no time for a romance development...

I spat my coffee and laugh when I heard french at the beginning XD

Otherwise... Yune is damn adorable. Will keep watching.

from the display picture of this anime, I thought Yune suppose to be a teen... not a child.

But oh wellz ^_^

The lead is a child pretty much, at least compared to the rest of the cast, and none of the genres are romance. Why would it need time for romance development?

Some people just don't get it, don't they?
They might always think a show should always end with a kiss or sex or something along those lines.

Hi guys,

Thank you for all the heart warming comments. I'm part of the staff of Ikoku meiro no croisee, along with my two french co-workers and friends Stan and Yann. The production is over yet but we worked a lot on this series and it was a real honnor and pleasure. I've already worked with Sato Junichi (aria, the OVA) and I was really glad to have been picked up this time again. This is the first time I worked with Yasuda san (director) and I really enjoyed his sensitive touch and his constant attention to details.
We were in charge of all the backgroud design (except the color which was done by Kawaguchi san of the atelier roku), the props setting, a lot of language checking, and all the layouts of the exposure scenes.
Like always (Oban star racers, basquash!...) I'm still writing about my experience in japanese animation industry on the well knowned french animation site Please check the satelight forum to look at some production designs.
Sorry, it's in french! I intend to post more of it next weeks. And feel free to ask questions, I will be happy to answer.

Enjoy the show, the best is still to come!

Welcome here, I don't expect a production staff to suddenly pop here :p

Your link is so awesome, I haven't read the post but the pics explains why the background is amazing.

I am hoping for more scenery p0rn here :p

And, as for the anime itself, no other comments other than...I am hoping for the next generation of ARIA. Healing anime is truly a hidden gem which I always love :p. Awesome first ep.

This is going to be a cute series. It is interesting to see how young they made Yune look. Because isn't she suppose to be like 12 or 13 something like that?

This seems like it will be a nice relaxing anime. Something nice to watch when you are tired. Nothing that will blow you away but enjoyable nevertheless.

Yune was such a cute little thing. I wanna take her home.

I found that the worst personally. She a nice cute little thing she doesn't have to go from moe to moe-blob with some overly big eyes expressions.

Why does this show have a low score? It deserves higher than its current score of 7.67! This is one of the shows worth watching this season. Tsk, I am greatly disappointed.

Oh I hear you on that video there. Yune is definitely to take home and nurture till the right age to have you know what.

I didn't expect to like this first episode as much as I did. Yune and Claude are interesting and very likable characters. And the show is the perfect change of pace from the other shows I'm watching. Very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

Victorique was small, but her character was more defined by her naughty personality, her intellect and the rare adorable reactions to Kujo's actions or the things that he brought her.

This girl in this anime seems like she is 3 years old, acts like a 3 year old and has nothing to distinguish her from any of the other "cute" stereotypes. She even breaks stuff by accident...

I will sure watch the whole season!

Cute show. It was just hard to get the feel of it for most of it because everyone was speaking Japanese and yet they didn't understand each other. It was too ironic for me! Except at the end, it seems she knows French and is now speaking "French", which is Japanese so she technically is talking just as she used to. Oy

i was putting this off for a while but now i am lovin it.

ok so when they need someone to use french they get someone who speaks it fluently and well, but when they need someone to speak English, they find the one person who has the stereotypical Japanese English accent.....meh

also the fact that she cant speak french is rather confusing becuase it is assumed that their speech is in french but its all in Japanese. the context is very weakened because of this but oh well.

but heartwarming....much better than some of the shit out there.

Yune is too cute!

I nice, relaxing show, but I found it to be a little too slow.

I think it could be a great show, but needs to pick up just a little.
I need more drama than a sign breaking...

But, I have high expectations, I think this will turn out to be fantastic!

I would say this is my favorite anime for this season so far.. ^^
The only thing that really kinda disappointsme is that Yune is soo young.. :/
I know, this show doesn't need "romance" in it but I'd be even more lovely with some imho..
Yune is adorable :3

Okay, several thoughts on this:

1. I felt connected to Yune because I live in foreign country as well. I can understand if Yune feels uneasy in the unfamiliar surroundings.

2. Yune is a hard worker. Even though she is young and new to her surroundings, she tries her best to do all those chores.

3. Yune is very cute. I like her adorable eyes and the way she looks petite. I love the scene when she makes sound by her shoes. It was just so lovely!

In overall, I found Croisee very interesting and hope to see more of Yune-chan! <3

19th century setting in Paris? Hmm...

Yune looks pretty cute like a little doll. Those moe eyes and her innocent expressions. I'm not sure if I'll like the series though because historical theme is not my style and this seems a bit too lighthearted to be entertaining.

I guess I won't be doing a marathon for this. It's one of those series you watch when you're in a bad mood and need to cheer up.

I barely got through the first 5 minutes without exploding from the moe overload, Yune is precious beyond words. This looks like it's going to be a fun and heartwarming watch, I like the interactions between Claude and Yune this first episode. So she understood everything he said huh? I was worried about the language barrier but I'm glad that's the case, it really helped Claude reassess his thoughts.
