So this was the secondary project after AGE. I got to say, I'm relieved that it's something that has to do with UC that's not another side story or future generation like Victory (We still have Gundam Unicorn running anyway). Origin is an Adaptation of the series, it's mostly faithful, but it changes the progression of the technology alot different and the war starts in 0068 and the manga takes place in 0078 and both sides have mobile suits, Early mobile suits are like the Guntank and then are replaced by Bipedal Mobile Suits by 0078. It's also written by the character designer of the original mobile suit gundam. I always wanted MS to be remade. This seems interesting, but I wish they would have done a faithful adaptation of the books instead that Tomino wrote, they are alot more mature and darker then the anime. If I remember correctly Amuro actually Sayla are like fuck buddies and alot people die. also is there any info on if Tomino will be involved at all? Unlike you, he does have a point. This entire UC vs AU conflict is mostly one-sided. The people who started off from an AU series don't neccecerily hate the UC timline. In fact, it gains their interest, since it's the original that started them all. Most UC fans however, keeps attacking them and flame them for being "stupid" to like them. And since when did these three shows become the worst Gundam shows? Well, SEED was not great, but the only reason why people hate it is because of Jesus Yamato and Kill-them-all Shin. 00 is a successful series and is one of the highest rated Gundam series of all time. The only reason it's hated is because of the Trans-am system and the fact that the main mobile suit can teleport. And AGE? It hasn't aired yet (but I can understand why it's highly disliked). So please, none of that. |

I rather have 20 remakes of Mobile Suit Gundam, a random AU series that rehashes all the same characters, plot points and general themes from Mobile suit gundam but just tweaks them a bit to pander to card collecting 11 year olds, Yaoi fangirls and Plebs If this recasts Char and Amuro (which I guarantee you it will), then fuck this project. Ikeda is currently doing Full Frontal in Unicorn and Toru just got done doing voices in Gundam 00, there absolutely zero evidence support why they won't be in this. It's not the most original thing in the world, but it is a new view on the one year war, and it looks like it's actually giving it room to breath. This could spawn a hole splinter universe from UC, instead of them trying to awkwardly fit new side stories into the UC time line that fuck with the cannon or have to resort to another Zeon up rising. And it's written by the guy who did the original character designs for Mobile Suit Gundam. On a side note I wonder if they are going with the REAL grade designs for the the updated looks of the mobile suits? The Real Grade RX-78 has kinda become the new mascot of Gundam as it is anyways. It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die. |

I say that Char and Amuro will be recast because they're "old" and "not hip anymore". Yeah, Shuuichi Ikeda has a role in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, which is awesome and I give props to Sunrise for casting him in that OVA. But this is a remake of the original series and you know Sunrise is going to want to take this in "a new direction". And by "new direction", I mean just taking the original series, re-animating it, re-dubbing it and turning the One Year War into the Ten Year War. And UC fanboys will eat this shit up. Seriously, if this gets supported at all, get ready for an onslaught of uninspired anime remakes, everyone. Signature removed.
