It's been a few hundreds of years since humans began to live on space colonies. In A.G. 101, an unknown enemy (UE) "GAFRAN" suddenly attacked one of the colonies "Angel". A long war against UE has begun. In A.G 108, a seven year old boy Flit Asuno lost his mother when UE attacked his colony "Ovan". His mother left him a memory unit "AGE". It stored data of an ancient mobile suit Gundam. In A.G. 114, Flit completes the Gundam AGE and counterattacks against GAFRANs.
They've had young pilots before, but this looks like a 10 year old boy. Not to mention the designs of the new Gundams, one of the best features, looks like rehash made more SD. Not intimidating at all.
The pilots are a bunch of brats even younger than Uso from victory, the Gundams look like giant toys and judging from how the units stand, the story and the pilot suit that the kid wears, it looks like a super robot anime.
WHY!?! TT_TT I was hoping for a Gundam series that dealt with realism and war, not a bunch of kids who fights evil with an oversized toy. Well, I might as well see it when it comes out. I just hope it's a short OVA and not a 50 episode series.
This is somewhat disappointing. It looks too childish to even be taken seriously. I knew they wouldn't do another UC-era show, since Unicorn still has 3 more OVAs in the works. But this seems more like an insult to long time fans with this kiddy-style design.
The only reason I can see them doing this is to try get more sales out of kids for the franchise. Maybe 00 wasn't as profitable as they hoped and decided to go with something for a younger audience to boost sales? Although I wish Sunrise the best(just so they stay in business), I won't bother with this and I'll just stick with Gundam Unicorn for now.
I wonder why I'm thinking they just look like that and in reality they'll be like, 15 y.o. and that'll put this show on the same level as Gundam Wing?.. (that probably won't make it any better but just saying~ )
Daaaaaamn. Obviously a kid's show. Like Gundam ZZ first-half all over again.
The head Gundam looks okay. Though in the second scan, the red unit at the bottom center looks ugly as sin. Kinda like the lovechild of Bolt Gundam and something from Daigunder.
So much for that. But hey, at least Unicorn's still around the corner...
Sohei said: It's as if the Gundam Pilots get younger with the decade. in the original UC most pilots were at least of age, recently many pilots looked teenagers, and now we're into an even younger age.
Furthermore, I hope this Gundam does not delay the Unicorn OVAs even more.
Amuro was 15. Uso Evin was 13. The OVA characters were old but the actual television series usually showed younger people.
