This old fart really doesn't seem to give up does he? I wonder what he is going to say when nothing happens again in October and I also wonder will anyone believe him this time around. And as quoted from one of the articles top comments: "It's a shame that stupidity can't be converted into a usable energy source."

For starters, I have to wonder what his church's budget looks like.

Honestly, I don't think this guy isn't stupid. The people listening to him are.

Stupid people don't spout off bullshit and rake in millions in donations. He knows who listens to him, he knows how susceptible they are, and he knows how to take advantage of them.

Camping is a grade A scumbag but he's not an idiot. I can only hope he doesn't die of old age before October 21st.

Chiristians in particular are not supposed to be believing in these predictions.

Or extreme undiluted optimism, usually one extreme or the other. Although it's interesting to note how it almost seems like many Christians truly want the world to end as soon as possible.

Meh, didn't listen to him the first time around. I wasn't even fooled once, so won't get fooled twice. Now I just don't care anymore and life goes on.

Anyone believing this is only a "Christian" in the loosest sense of the term, seeing as the Bible basically says "If someone tells you they know when the world ends, they're full of shit."

Hell, don't even call this guy a Christian.

As it was stated above by nerb (thanks for that, by the way), the Bible clearly states WE don't know when the world will end and we won't until the end is nigh.

Anyone who doesn't understand that basic principal and keeps on predicting the "end of the world" doesn't deserve to be called Christian.

It's almost as bad as the Mayan calender "apocalypse."

Actually this would be the third time.

Meh. I doubt he's actually Christian. Heck, the way he acts, I doubt he's even read the bible.

Its just like that simpsons episode, where homer figures out the day of the rapture but gets it wrong, but then gets it right again. But no one believed him, and he convinced god for a second chance for the others.

That's just typical. His belief of the world ending this month didn't turn out how he said it would, so then he suddenly just happens to realise he miscalculated. Yeah, noone is falling for that old man.

They fell for it when his prediction in 1994 had a similar outcome. Some people are sheep and will believe anything someone tells them. A very small minority, of course, but a group never the less.

Harold Camping is sad. I feel sorry for him. Any further predictions he makes end in mocking from the community at large. I'm going to wager that when the October date doesn't work out he's either going to stop making predictions or jump on the 2012 bandwagon with everyone else.

Third times the charm! unless i'm mistaken, didn't he first predict this in 1994?
"Every man shall reap what he has sown, from the highest lord to the lowest gutter rat. And some will lose more than the tips off their fingers, I promise you. They have made my kingdom bleed, and I do not forget that"

And of course, when October 21 passes, it will once again be another "miscalculation". When will this guy ever stop? Hasn't he learned from his first two miscalculations? As people have said before, if he really was Christian, he would listen to the bible when it says "No one knows the day, expect God himself"

It's true. It says right in the Bible that the end times will come like a thief in the night, and that only God knows when the world will end.

Some more quotes from the bible about it.

I feel kinda bad for the people who believed him, but come on! This is the third time he's pulled this. People ought to know by now. X_X

This man is just very unholy. He's actually failed 13 times making predictions like these and yet he continues to do it, even though the Bible clearly states it's impossible. By putting words into God's mouth like this, he's really just making trouble for himself...

I do kind of feel sorry for him, because he does truly seem to believe his own predictions, but mostly I feel sorry for his followers. I don't feel like it's right to call them "stupid" for having faith in something and taking risks to work for that faith. They were just deceived.

That said, I'm pretty paranoid so I'm afraid of every doomsday theory ever. So I'm terrified of October 21st, because I'm always like "oh gosh what if he's right D:".

Well unless you have something you need some serious forgiveness for you shouldn't be worried about the end.

And blind faith which his followers have its stupid, that means that A. they didn't read the book themselves or B. they think him a prophet or something.
