Next week can't come soon enough. I really love how they switched the perspective from Kaiji to the Foreman. It's a very subtle trick to give us a more in depth view of the villain. I noticed they did it at almost all 'battles', except the endboss from Season 1.

The way of cheating is so cheap, can't be done easily without anyone noticing and they have been stretching out the episodes for mere replacement dices? I still cannot believe that the trick of the dice game is based on this. Awfully disappointing resolve to a good build up. 1.5/5.

One of the most intense episodes i've seen in any anime ever.

Just because you are one brainless bastard, dont expect everyone to be as brainless as you. The trick he pulled is at most Bleach magic level as well, but that's pretty high considering what your brain is capable of which in fact might not exist at all.

Everyone has their opinions, learn to respect, little faggot.

No, seriously, tell me, what trick did u expect there? IMO, it was a good one. Ootsuki explained himself, why this trick worked well up until now. Lighting is poor, so u aren't able to see the dices well, even if there is no snake eye, it would still be hard to notice it because of the motion. And still, everyone mainly pays attention to the result in those live or die situations anyway. Not to mention the placement of his buddies around him and the change of rules. It was perfect.. until Kaiji figures it out. xD

Damn it, Kaiji is seriously better to marathon than watching it weekly with these massive cliffhangers. Although, I gotta say that without them, it wouldn't be the same show.
Next episode should be awesome.

The trick is genius in its simplicity. The biggest part you simply don't seem to get is that they DO NOT GUARANTEE A WIN. Yea you only trow good hands, but with the exception of 4-5-6 they can still be beaten. This part is the genius of it all It doesn't raise suspicion. And because he also limits the dealer turn to 2 rounds, he can't simply keep winning big. Combine this with the tension in the room, the bad lightning and the fact that he has a safety net so make sure his dice aren't discovered, and you have a incredible way to cheat.

The 4-5-6 dice provides the foundation for the psychological battle between Kaiji and Ohtsuki to take place and that's what was exciting in this episode. It always has been about the psychology of gambling and not just the gambling itself in Kaiji. This is why this show is brilliant, it manages to build up suspense around games that are so simple.

Ridiculously epic.

I was lolling to the subs because all the "They're trying to catch me rolling dirty"s and Ootsuki goes Pokémon aka. "I choose you, 4-5-6 dice!"s. The dice trick was simpler than I thought, I was expecting loaded dices.

Yet, they streched the episode pretty much, just for the sake of a cliffhanger. :<

When I watch Bleach, any character could pull off a miracle out of blue followed by a flashback explanation that nobody really care about. But when I watch Kaiji, I know what he is doing, I excite about what he is about to do.

I have to agree that the trick was... disappointing. It's not bad enough for a 1.5, but it wasn't what I would've hoped for.

If you ask me what I expected the trick to be, I can't tell you, because anything I could think of would be too simple, even worse than it is now.

I know you guys keep saying it's a psychological thriller and everything, but you can't have a good psychological thriller if the characters are all completely illogical.

And the fact is, putting his hand in his pockets is suspicious. Even if the dice are good for while it is rolling and when it is finished, Ohtsuki still has to take it out of his pockets, which is a big movement that can't be avoided. Furthermore, how does numa something give the dice back to Ohtsuki? It's way too hard to avoid being seen.

IMO it's much more realistic to realize the trick by seeing Ohtsuki reach for the dice rather than by seeing that he rolled 4,5 and 6s often.

And furthermore, if I was Kaiji, I wouldn't avoid the other betting nights; I would bet small amounts to make sure my suspicions are correct. I would also not let Ohtsuki know that I formed a team, so he wouldn't have the time to prepare himself when we strike. It's unrealistic that Ohtsuki will just play normally when he knows Kaiji has been planning something for months.

That's true. I noticed it in manga before it was explained. .

That trick is really easy to notice especially since(as was stated in anime and manga) players watch on dice all the time: it's true that when die falls, there're only three sides are visible. However, there are only 1 way how usual die could fall such way that 4-5-6 are visible. On modified die there are two ways: 4-5-6 or 5-4-6. Here's a picture with normal 4 dice and modfied.

Normal dice can never fall such way that on one die 5 will be on left side, 6 on top and 4 on right, and on second die 4 and 5 will be swapped. Just impossible.
However, modified dice can fall both ways: 4-5-6 and 5-4-6. That will give the trick away instantly.

That entire picture is wrong. The sum of two opposites with normal dice is always 7. The opposite number of eyes of 6 is always 1. The opposite of 5 is always 2. It is very possible to have 6 at Top, 4 At Front, 5 at either right or left and not raise suspicion at all.
