THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Looks like last week's preview suggesting some backstory on Barnaby was mostly a fakeout. Still a very enjoyable episode, if I do say so myself. That elevator "repairman" was fishy from the moment he walked out, was almost too obvious that something was about to go down.

This show is enjoyable, MAL needs to step off its nutsack already.

I enjoy how Tiger and Bunny take care of bombs.

Does need more Fire Emblem though.

Decent episode and an enjoyable series so far. And yeah, I want to see the other heroes in action like the first episode more, too.

Lots of enjoyable moments. I chuckled when Kotetsu mocked Sky High's catchphrase "Thank you! And thank you!".

Origami Weaboo and his background-popping skills = awesome.

Yeah, the other heroes are very interesting and likable too (My most favorite is a tough call between Origami and Sky High, then Blue Rose, Barnaby and Tiger for second). Hope they get more screentime and depth. I guess it'll start next week with Blue Rose. Looking forward to next episode already. ^^

I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the first episode. Didn't really take it too seriously but episodes 2 and 3. Man they hooked me! I started to care more about the characters and in episode 3 I loved the Tiger/Bunny interactions way more. They're starting to look/act more like real heroes and less about showing off to the TV show. Tiger's the man.

Definitely better than last week. Two annoying adults (TV woman, who seemed to have something to do with the bomb, and Bunny) are still more tolerable than one dumb kid. :p

Best part of the episode. Someone needs to license this and put it on American TV, now.

I think Viz has the license.
But yeah, I would love it if it were aired on television over here.

Barnaby has an emo backstory tooo YAAAAY. (Or at least that one young Barnaby scene suggested it)

And finally Barnaby and Kotetsu bonds.

B: "By the way, sir... What's that?"
T: *annoyed* "Figure it out yourself---" *notices the cameras/tv manager's expression*
T: *gulp* "---which you don't have to, what are you looking at"

I cracked up :D Also the whole building pointing was hilarious.

This show's got me hooked. It's funny, since the moment I saw a trailer of the series I judged it in my mind as a 'probably-clichéed-mecha/superhero-series-with-american-settings'. Now, after watching 3 episodes in a row on a whim, I'm very positively surprised. The first episode was a little swaying but the pacing has improved a bit already. GC's are a little meh, but not so bad I was fearing of.

The interaction between main lead and other characters (in this episode, Bunny) is great. Tiger somehow reminds me of a combination of some very good-natured shonen lead and Spike (Cowboy Bebop) with his attitude, I can't help but to like him. And hey, who wouldn't love an old-school good-natured father with a superhero sidejob. Well, not so 'side' maybe.

This show has just so many fascinating characters, whom, I hope, will be properly introduced.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Their partner antics is definitely an appeal for 'this' show. Tiger is very fun to watch with his old fashion heroic beliefs.

Yep. I'm officially in love with this show.

I thought it was funny that Kotetsu puts on a small super hero mask that doesn't hide anything. He's wearing the same clothes he normally does, so it's a wonder how he kept his identity hidden at all.

Also: Top or bottom? I have a feeling yaoi fangirls everywhere heard that line from Kotetsu and Barnaby and started to squee. (._.")

Loved this ep. Looks like Tiger & Bunny are starting to get friendlier with each other.

Also I lol'd at the "top or bottom" thing, since the two main characters were designed that way specifically for the yaoi fangirls.

I think next ep is going to focus on Blue Rose? Looking forward to that.

true. some watchers nowadays tend to only go to those "known" "popular" and "hyped" series. they just go with what others like. XD

anyway, this is very very good, definitely better than X-Men if i may say and better than some other shows this season. ^^

Kotetsu is the kind of guy that other men can sympathize with. His not that annoying melodramatic annoying bishounen. Funnily his partner is exactly that and although not very likable the show is structured in a way that makes him not being completely annoying. Is probably because his word fights with Tiger give him some personality.
Love Kotetsu's comment after Bunny did that bishounen thing with the hair. God i hate that move.
In the end Kotetsu despite his super-hero status is very human and he really gives the vibe that his just like all of us simply trying to get some money to get by and trying to keep the little kid inside him that dreamed of a better world, alive.

Lol! at that guy trying to always be in photos and staff. That guy is one crazy dude. He doesn't even save anyone.

Btw that girl in the bar was that Ice Girl right? Does she like him? Because she seemed a little embarrassed. Except if her character is very shy in general when she's outside her costume role and got embarrassed seeing a known face.

Perhaps she likes him, but her reaction was most likely, that Kotatsu did anything wrong in the past (not sure about not long ago or long ago). Probably, that he's working with that new, completely capitalized, bishounen hero. Just some speculations :D

I really love this show. It's fun, but not in a guilty pleasure way. The cast is so insanely likable, and the end of this episode with KICKING. A. BOMB. THROUGH. THE. ROOF. was so ridiculously AWESOME.

I'm glad it's selling so well in Japan, just wish it'd get more recognition here, which is where you'd think it would be more popular considering that it's superhero related.
