EA is the one really behind the animated movies for Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

The fanboy inside of me keeps telling me that too. DA:O was a good game, idk what they had to screw it up with DA 2. And besides, RPG's today do not belong to the same elitistic-hardcore genre like they used to 15 years ago. Today they more casual and accessible for "normal people" but that's nor reason to kill a genre with shitty releases every single year.

The game is already adapted into novels and comics and there is a live action adaptation coming up.I guess a tv series adaptation is next.

I'm more interested in the live-action Mass Effect film, but I guess this should keep me entertained for a while. Unless of course they've scrapped a live-action film in favour of an anime one. I hope that isn't the case though.

I played it on an internet rental...and hated it...

Left4Dead was even better IMO..
EDIT: except the Visual Novel-like patterns..

There's no telling if they're going to use Shepard at all. I know for a fact they aren't in the live-action film.

So a game with no story is better than an RPG. Lol.

Now thats interesting news. Both ME and DA universes are big and rich with lore. Anime movie will add to ME worlds glory no matter how shitty it will be.

In a league of its own. Above boring RPG's such as Morrowind and Oblivion.

Action game with narrow and limited dialogue options.

Planescape: Torment or Fallout 2 are great examples of great RPG's. And yes even Morrowind is better because of the lore and world.

Yeah, that's my point. Maybe it's just because I never really liked sci-fi too much.

I just hope it can at least reach the standards of Dead Space: Downfall.

Well, the topic is about Mass Effect, and since this is in the news forum it will raise your post count. Increased post count + an opportunity to entice a flame war is something only a handful choose not to utilize I suppose.

Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games of the last 10 years...and I love (most) anime...but I'm not getting my hopes up for this or the Dragonage one.

Just looking at the conversions of Western properties to anime (Animatrix, Halo, Batman, yet to see Wolverine or Iron Man but have not heard much positive) they're average to ok at best.

Haha this is pretty cool news for me to be honest. Will it be good, I really couldn't tell. Ill definitely watch it though. Well, here's to hoping they don't butcher Mass Effect. Maybe it'll be ok like that Dead Space animated movie.

Needs more Tali, Liara, and Samara ecchi scenes hahaha. Well one can dream right...

I wonder which of the media (books, games, etc.) in the series they will cover, or if the content will be original?

ROFL! Mass Effect and ecchi scenes... not that Mass Effect didn't have them, but to see them put into anime ecchi... I laugh just thinking of about it! xD

But, perhaps this movie will be interesting? So far the American entertainment anime adaptions have been less than spectacular. Well, one can hope.

It had damn well better be if they know what's good for them. ...though I highly disapprove of giving Thane's voice to Rossiu. I can't marry him. He's weird. D:

But yeah I'm just going to turn my music up super loud and ignore any bad things people say about this movie. This isn't me insisting the movie will be a masterpiece. This is me being in denial that it will be anything but a masterpiece, because otherwise my inner fangirl is just going to sob and never stop.

Don't give them ideas...

You just know the anime Normandy will have a hot spring, and there's bound to be some beach episode planets.

Virmire was a beach planet.

What do you know? They can fit it in with the plot.

It's a dating simulator.

and

This anime is going to be retarded. There is absolutely no reason for them to do this other then milking this series for all the money its worth (and after that pile of shit that was ME2 it isn't worth much).

Going to be a giant waste of space just like that 'halo anime'.

Okay, okay. Aaaanyways, I'm watching this even if it is terrible. I wonder if they'll have any of the original ME cast or if it's just a spin-off.

Considering their approach to every single other spin off material it won't feature Shepard at all. That way you can insert the side material as "Canon" material into your own storyline for ME. Since each players story is different.

I vote for them doing the Rachni war, or Cerberus before Shep. Something in the past that would expand upon blank space.
