My condolences to the families who have lost their family. - The episodes, I think people understand the fact that they will have patience. ![]() |
Don't really care about the cancellations in these circumstances to be honest. Thoughts go out to all those in Japan. ![]() |

This is not the worst thing to happen to Japan (I don't know about worst earthquake though, and honestly, I can't tell if that's what you meant) Also, does anyone else remember this little anime? http://myanimelist.net/anime/6211/Tokyo_Magnitude_8.0 Honestly, if a team of experts thought an 8.0 could do this to Tokyo, either they're bullshit artists or this could have been way worse, hell, communications were hardly affected for that long. Either way, hope not to many people got hurt and that the death toll isn't to large. ![]() |
Woah, this is terrible. I live in the Netherlands and heard in class this morning from other people that there was an earthquake and tsunami in Japan. When I checked it just out it wasn't what I expected, this is much more worse. I just hope that as less people as possible will die. ![]() |

My prayers and blessings to Japan and my condolences to the families who lost a loved one. Lots of people losing homes and this is such a tragic event.... I can wait for the animes being delayed. Family is what important right now and what comes first is first. ![]() |
I am also glad you are alright dtshyk. I pray that as many MAL/Fark/Reddit/Imgur users in Japan and all of my Japanese brothers and sisters are doing well and are not seriously hurt after a quake like that. *Special shout out hoping that the Airmen of Misawa AB and Yokota AB in Japan are all right as well. ![]() I had a real signature.... but I got tired of it. What should I change it to now? |
i heard the news today at 5 am EST and was dismayed at how large it was. then is aw the news footage of the tsunami. the delay in the production and airing of some of these shows are nothing compared to the devastation that has been brought to the people of Japan, especially those who are in the area vastly affected by this. I hope the pull through and survive this disaster. from what i heard, the 1995 quake was very devastating due to the lack of preparedness of the government as well as building codes. this time around it seems the heavy investment in disaster preparedness has proved to be valuable as the death toll seems to be much smaller and the damage less severe than it would have been if it had been to the 1995 levels. ![]() |
http://www.npr.org/2011/03/11/134444531/major-tsunami-damage-in-northern-japan for more information In 1923, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Kanto killed around 143,000 people, although I believe back then buildings weren't as earthquake-proof as they are today. In 1995, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Kobe city killed 6,400 people. The earthquake that happened most recently was a magnitude 8.9; 31.6 times as energetic as the 1923 earthquake, and 1000 times more energetic than the 1995 earthquake. Plus there were over 50 aftershocks after the initial earthquake, many of them over magnitude 6.0, to add insult to injury to Japan. I shudder to think of the mounting death toll for this earthquake. My deepfelt condolences go out to those who have lost their lives, family, homes, and livelihoods. ![]() |

I believe that was a worst case scenario. And there are videos of many skyscrapers shaking back and forth pretty badly so you could just consider this testament to Japan's engineering and preparation. The full-scale Gundam however did not make it :( ![]() |
Just saw the whole thing on the news. I hope everyone over there is okay. ![]() |

I can wait a week for Gosick, already seen Index anyway but recovery from the damage caused is more important for right now. This quake has left nothing but stress and lactic acid permeating through my body. Not to mention all of the destruction and death. ![]() |

8.9 magnitude did a lot of damage to the people who lived in that country and even went as far as damaging the anime/manga media. Without a doubt, this is a tragedy, since there were hundreds of casualties. ![]() |

This is honestly a disaster. Thinking of all those humans suffering, and dying is terrible. Jut it's still a good thing Tokyo wasn't wreaked as much as Sendai(sorry if it's not the innternational name). What would have happend if a very well known mangaka died? I won't make an example now since we're talkin about real human lives, but if the series was really popular... I must say that I wonder what they would have done. dvp89 said: I hope all of japanese are safe. I'm sorryvto dissapoint you, but they ain't. ![]() |
Almost everyone I know who lives in Japan is currently safe. There's still a few people I need to hear from (hopefully they are too!). To everyone who is safe, I'm glad that you are ok! Wishing the best to everyone out in the pacific. ![]() |

RIP to the people who died. i dont pray but they will be in my thoughts ![]() ![]() "For me to call a man my friend, he must be equal to me in all aspects" - Griffith, 'Berserk' |
