| More often than not they're closed. I'd say about 90% of the time he's speaking they're closed for whatever reason. |

| I believe they were just trying to copy the manga, where in the early volumes his eyes were like that all the time it seems. Though it IS an odd stylistic choice that doesn't really work for me either. I'm still enjoying the anime though. |

| The closed-eyes trope is so gross. I'm glad it's only used for plot occasionally these days. It's so distracting and it takes away from any felt emotion. |
