Char fabulously tearing up when he was hit by Kamille and saying about how is it to be young.
Char you old fart!

This moment was one of the highlights of my life.

The manliest mofo in universe Kamille hits Char Aznable to the face, that's hard to top

Nah, man, manliest hardass mofo in UC-verse is still Brighto-san. Even though in Zeta they basically turned him into a bullied kid, lol.

Anyway, surprised about the lack of reactions to Char getting fabulously hit by Kamille : I for one had to pause for a good minute looking at his goddam sparkly shoujo-esque tears. Man, that was grand. Though I admit I totally expected him to dodge like a boss haha
But seriously though, how in the hell dare you Kamille?

Didn't expect Hayato to end up with Fraw like, at all. That pairing is so fucking random. But I guess Fraw has been like a mother figure for Amuro in 0079 more than anything else, putting up with his BS and setting him straight when he needed to get his shit together, so the fact they didn't get married doesn't surprise me that much, after all.
Wut? Amuro had a thing for Sayla ? I thought that was Kai, lol
The only thing I remember from Amuro's "love life" in 0079 is how he was all over goddam Matilda before she died.

Roberto's death was spoilt by the previews... again. Not that I cared about the character, but I was still pissed. So I guess they didn't fix the problem in Zeta either. Well, might as well avoid them till the end of the show.

Great episode. We finally get to see the WB crew. Weird that they didnt show Kika doing some bs. I knew that I'd be somewhat disappointed in the old characters since they didnt seem to have a major role now, and now its finally shown, Amuro and Char are now depicted as cowards. Good for Hayato and Fraw getting together and adopting the kids, and finally, i want to see more of this new gundams!

Another godly episode!! Definitely the best one so far!

Frau Bow is much more mature now!! But it blows my mind that she went to Hayato. Then again she did comfort him during the final battle.

And where the hell is Sayla!?!?! Please i want to see where Sayla is now!!!!!

Amuro where the hell is she!?!?! I'm guessing Amuro did hid his Gundam, kinda like what Kira did during Destiny :P

Glad Hayato's Guntank is still there on the museum! I was hoping he would use it at least just for this battle.

Man it seems the White Base crew sense that Quattro is Char.

And Kamille punching Char!?!?! What madness is this O___O

Man Char teared up that he is no longer young as he once were.

Poor Roberto dying on battle :(

I'm really loving the team work of Char and Kamille!!! Their like father and son!! Kamille is learning slowly from the experience in battle.

Loving this series!! Definitely an amazing sequel and this is how you follow up and improve the previous season!!

Can't wait to see more Zeta Goodness!!

Oh man, Char's glitter tears were great. I definitely wasn't expecting that. xD

I don't really blame Char or Amuro for not taking a bigger role than they have. I'm sure they've both seen more killing than they'd like, and as another poster pointed out, the picture of Ryu seems to show that Amuro never did forget his grief. In any case, that seemed like a somewhat petty reason for Kai to not work with them, but he always has had his own ideas and done his own thing, I suppose.

Although I thought it was a possibility, I'm not surprised at all that Fraw didn't end up with Amuro. She seemed more like a sister to him than a love interest. I am somewhat surprised that she ended up with Hayato, though. She did take care of him that one time near the end of the last season, but nothing romantic was hinted.

I thought both Kai and Amuro were potential matches for Sayla. Maybe she actually will be in this also? She's not in the OP.

We haven't had much interaction with the kids, but I hope Kikka is as spunky as she used to be. It would be a lot more entertaining now that she's older.

Cool episode all around.

They really need to stop spoiling stuff in the previews.

Sayla only gets a cameo cause her voice actress was off in Africa on a safari or something during production.

I remember the episodes not by what actually happens, but who gets the ever loving snot beaten out of them. And as you can see, I've not been wrong yet.

I hope that's not surprising or anything.

I still can't make up my mind on which is my favourite, the one where Wong unleashes a no holds barred beatdown on Kamille whilst he complains that violence is not the answer, or the one where Bright beats up everybody.

"Captain Quattro, he is a CHAR." The letter was by far my favorite part of the episode. The filler text was just amazing. Really curious what Kai is going to do now, though.

My mom literally asked me whether I was laughing or crying after seeing the scene in which Kamille punches Char. Ridiculously stupid. I'm not expecting any less, I suppose.

I intended to mention this last episode, but it seems I forgot: Kamille keeps making up excuses for why the people he killed died. I suppose it's somewhat interesting, but it's not going to do him any favors in the long run.

I suppose t says something when by far my favorite episode of the show is this one. This episode is basically a straight sequel to 079 catching up with so many great characters and the new Zeta characters were very much background for everything but up the fight.

Great to see Amuro, even though he is under house arrest. Frau and the kids and Hayato all were amazing. I also love that Kai is sneaking around like a superspy. Hope they keep the 079 characters in the forefront for a while.

It was well worth enduring the 12 previous episodes! This single intro sequence about Amuro was so good. Every little thing. I liked him already before but seeing how he was kept under silence by the Federation during 6years after all he did, it is sad. (same for Sayla). His discussion with Fraw was good but I wanted her to slap this ingrate child of her, does he realize he wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Amuro, how dares he call him a coward? Especially when undercover agents watch the poor veteran 24/7.

The short appearance of the old suits was a pleasing reference.

Funny to see how Hayato and Kai think Casval should have tried to change things by assuming a political role with his true identity. Don't they blame him for anything? On one hand, they are right: he would be easily accepted as a leader and this mature Char seems peaceful, (but not on Earth, being the son of an independentist) On the other hand, he presented himself to his sister as the heir of Zeonism on Texas and was willing to go further than their father by favouring Newtypes over oldtypes (instead of spacenoids vs earthlings). And hearing how he still want to preserve the Earth", I suspect him to still be Zeonist. And no Zeonist should ever raise to power, particularly a extremist thinker.

5/5
Series score: 7 (+1)

PS: Kamille punching Char because he doesn't want to assume any responsibility was odd and felt forced.

@St0rmblade It's really not well explained but it appears that the AEUGo is a dissident part of the Federation's military force. Opposed to the politics represented by the TITANs force and their growing power/influence on the whole government.

Yeah, it is a little interesting tidbit there. I guess it's way of "coping" with the stress? But really, it just reminds me of Kira "Jesus" Yamato- and that is NOT something I want ruining my UC watching.

In other news: Char proven to be a nostalgic old fart who cries like a shoujo girl when he's punched by teenage boys, Hayato's... gained a little weight, Kai's an antisocial loner again, and the boy whose name I can't remember has grown one hell of a spine and already become one of my favorite UC characters from this episode alone. (Not a high position, mind, but he's on the list at least. XD)

Speaking of interesting trends, there's been a sudden influx of transforming mobile suits in the past few episode. That wannabe Innovator from Jupiter, the transforming alien-esque mobile suit this week, and next week it looks like Amuro's facing yet another one as well. At least now we know where the idea for the Zeta's greatest gimmick comes from.

Looking forward to next episode.

A slow trickle lies ahead in the immediate future, given the many departed so far occurred. But adding too many new faces, all of which makes the story very animated, on the whole I am satisfied, because the fights are always varied with each other and intense. Even the dialogues, combine to make the story compelling.

The inclusion of many of the old characters has been a welcome development in this anime. It's done a good job in showing what has changed and what has stayed the same. While I don't like most of what Kamille says, his final observation about how little control the Titans have on Earth is a good one. The divided nature of humanity is what started the war in the first Gundam, and it is the cause of the war in this one.

I have to give props to Roberto. This episode was his finest hour.

I was pretty intimidated by the constant presence of undercover agents in Amuro's residence during most of the scenes. They're lurking in the background all the time!

Also glad to see old Guncannons for a moment. Kamille keeps making up excuses for killing people ("you got in the way", "you'd better not retaliate", etc).
Kai's letter to Hayato was super sweet. "Captain Quattro, he is a CHAR" xD

How to launch a shuttle, Apolly style: just smash it with a fist

And LOL at Kamille smahing Char in the face. I almost fell out of my chair, he and Hayato sure did pressure Char to basically acknowledge his identity ("right now I am QUattro Bajeena, no more, no less").

Press F for Roberto. It's the second time we see a transforming mobile armor. Also the second time when Kamille and Char board the plane by giving hand to one another.

Why did the narrator say that 2 factions of the Federation Forces atrted fighting? I didn't notice anything like that.

P.S. I also liked when they showed things reflected in Char's glasses.

Amazing episode. I'm glad that Tomino and the Gundam crew, at least at this point cause who knows later on, knew how to treat with respect his past characters as we saw with Amuro and his interactions at the beginning of this episode, it is brought to our attention that these characters have grown up and matured, but still as human beings have their remaining or evolving weaknesses and flaws to deal with. Also I admire that Amuro and Fraw didn't end up together, that relationship would be so cliche and off putting to me and more viewers. I can say at least that that pairing would've made more sense to me than Bright and Mirai's. What is Kai thinking? Doesn't he have the slightest clue that if Char does something such as hiding his identity, which at this point is obvious to most characters, is because there must be a really good reason behind it? I chuckled when Char hit the ground and wall and just when he was starting his philosophical spew the hanger gets immediately blasted, some self aware humor if you ask me.

Aw, so Fraw Bow actually adopted the three kids from WB, I like that. Her and Hayato being together was already implied in the original show, so no big surprise there.

Amuro seems to be under surveillance because the earth federation does not trust newtypes. So the dude helps them win the war and in return he's a prisoner. Well, at least he's got a nice mansion and everything, but still.

Really hope we'll get to see Sayla soon!

Quattro basically admitting he's Char is neat, they really pressured him there. Had to laugh when he teared up after getting punched by Kamille though, lmao.

Good, subtle storytelling that implied rather than directly told how things stand. Amuro's complicated feelings about being literally grounded were interesting. I hope we get to see more how the characters have developed and what the Earth Federation is like now, maybe even an episode without a mobile suit battle. But I understand they're one of the main attractions for the target audience.

Kai's letter was hilarious, appearing like it was written by a ten-year-old. Kamille punching Char once again showed how they think punching people solves things as if people were old tv sets. But Char's thought about being shameful was interesting. It could be shame about the war, having been on the losing side, or specifically about his family and how everything turned out for them.
