| ..which series do you think of straight away? No this thread isn't about your favorite anime, but more about which series is now more of an icon to you the moment you get into an anime conversation(specially with first-timers). Out of all the series that's aired in the last century, I really don't know why but the first thing I think of when thinking of a title is Trigun. Yes the series has a lot of flaws compared to what's been out but Trigun is like a beacon for me when I get into an anime conversation. So which series is your icon/beacon? |

| Depends on the "someone" in question. The frst thing that pops into my mind is usually what I associate with the stereotype the people seem to fit. If it's kids, Pokemon is usually what comes to mind. If it's dubious looking younger teenagers, I think of Bleach and Naruto. If it's geeky girls, I think of generic Yaoi. If it's completely normal looking people, I usually imagine Cowboy Bebop or GitS. |
| I second Baman's notion. It really depends on the “someone” you are talking to. Now, if I only hear the word “anime” the association is dependent on my mood or what recently influenced me, I guess. Like now, I am thinking about all the shows named in this thread. Besides all that, “Dragon Ball” shall be my choice... |

Kampfer is a great anime :) Personally, I usually think about Cowboy Bebop but that is because I usually associate it with the person talking and that is most likely the only anime they've seen. |

| well it can be your favorite(considering Trigun is an old school fave of mine), but is that the very first title you think of when getting into a generic anime discussion? the reason I brought the topic up as I had realized when I was chatting with a work friend yesterday about anime, that Trigun seemed to always comes into the conversation, whether it be as a recommendation or just chat value. There's been a good line up of series that's come out since, but I usually end up talking about Trigun like a girl would talk about some brand name bag, before I start naming other anime I've seen @Baman, I'm surprised LoGH wasn't your brand name anime |

| Cowboy Bebop. It pretty much defines what I think anime should be like. I do occationally think of GitS or Evangelion, but it's usually Bebop that comes to mind. |

| As someone said earlier, it really depends on who I am talking to what I think their taste might be, but when it comes down to it Cowboy Bebop would have to be my primary anime icon. It does it all and does it so well. I might not sing arias about it, but to me it is still the epitome of anime. |

| A new found friend of mine asked me about what anime would I consider one of my faves. Off the top of my head I said, Code Geass. Turns out it was her most favorite anime. We talked for a while afterwards. So I guess Code Geass does the trick for me ^_^ |

I guess its because the story never ends therefore episode continues. Most people know Naruto more than the other two because of Naruto being dubbed and aired over english channels long before any other. Sometimes you'll get those guys who haven't watched anime since the childhood days..Dragon Ball Z, cardcaptors, sailor moon, yu gi oh lol. Ull probably hear some older anime from them |

| It all depends on the conversation at hand. But I generally associate my favorite's of that specific genre with what ever they are talking about. For instance if they are talking about Shoujo then I think Lovely Complex, shounen One Piece and so on. However, if they are talking about shows that I have seen and understand just how terrible they are then I usually just turn around and walk away...:\ |

Really glad there's actually a classmate and friend of mine who knows about Ore no Imou :D Death also comes up but they don't talk much about it. They just say something like "L~! I looooove him~" or "I don't like Light" or "Misa is sooo cuute~" or "Near is love~" or "Ryuk's a jerk". >.> |
