Lol, yeah maybe he had a fleeting chance. I think Khamille is too immature to be a pilot. I can't believe they'll actually let him pilot a freaking gundam!

So staying in space long enough makes you a Newtype, huh? I'm with Char - screw the earth. Spacenoids ftw.

This episode was really really good, it felt very dark and intense and the plot advances. I think I'm really gonna enjoy this series.

PS: That head had to fall off right when they arrvied :P

so when humans adapt to space they become newtypes, interesting

Awesome episode; Best one yet imo. I didn't want Lila to die though... And Kamille is already showing some newtype abilities? Cool.

Good episode. Learning more about Newtype development is really great.
I'm getting really interested in the development of Jerid
Poor Lila though. I wouldn't mind it if she survived. :[

Damnit, the one Feddie soldier I liked....xD

And in response to hobbiteen's comment...Gundams are powered by ram teenaged Angst.
It's why teens are such good pilots in them.

I'm also interested to see how Jerid progresses. He started of as an absolute douche. Maybe he will become a likeable douche, who knows~

Lila :( noo I liked her.

Interesting revelations about the dead colony and the politics of everything, I feel like I understand the reasons behind the fighting much better now.

I want to know more about how Newtypes are created, and what they are. So far, they're people whose adaptation to space has granted super-intuition.

Does the process continue when ships in space simulate Earth's atmosphere and gravitational pull? More importantly, what quality of space contributes to the evolution, and is that evolution genetic or spiritual?

I get the feeling these things are going to get glossed over.

I don't know man, it seems like somethings missing to me. So far this series seems very "mechanical" to me.

Damn I didn't want Lila to die.

One interesting thing about Char's Newtype explanation is that that would mean Lila is well on her way of becoming a Newtype herself, as seen in her superior combat instincts, even though she herself began to exhibit the characteristic Oldtype Envy.

Pretty interesting portrayal of these issues, Zeta Gundam.

Kamille seems to know his history well.

This entire episode felt very original Star Trek to me. The colony looked like the Miri episode or whatever I'm thinking of.

Indeed, it's a good explanation and explains why Amuro became one as well as hints of other WB crew becoming them too..

Was expecting Lilla to be a recurring character, but as soon as Jarad asked her out for a drink, I knew she was going to die. x)

Man... poor Jerid. I though Lila was going to be more important, I guess this is why she's not playable in Gundam Musou 3 while Reccoa and Emma are.

Kamille is slowly growing on me. I think he'll become quite an interesting character. - Gaming reviews, articles, anime and figures.

I didn't think Lila would die this early. Thought she would get closer to Jerid before she died. I think Jerid will get some development now that she's dead.

Like everyone else, I didn't expect Lila to die so early. It's probably gonna give some motivation to Jerid to become a better pilot and overall a better man.
Also nice to see some development on the Newtype abilities and their origins, as it pretty much makes total sense: Spacenoids are teh shit. Also the whole Oldtype vs. Newtype seems pretty interesting. Looking forward to further explanations.

Kamille proved to be a worthy pilot multiple times already, but I still would not trust an unstable kid like him.

damn, i was just started to like the relationship between lila and jerid, and now shes dead :/ that boob tho... That thing about old types feeling apathy towards new types unconsciously was really key as we see that even lila could have easily switched sides if she knew earlier. Also, Kamille turned into a pro all of a sudden -_-

Another tragic episode T__T

Milla Rira, Lila boobs were shown!! Reminds me of the early episode of 079 with Frau and Mirai!

Damn Jerid is making some moves to Mill-san. You were so close boy!!

Regarding Side 30, does anyone remind of you the Texas Colony around the last few episodes with Char and Amuro fighting in the middle of sandstorm along with Lalah??

Damn that bastard Bask wouldn't hesitate to kill people to achieve his goals. I'm surprise they showed mummified people and children! I doub't they'll allow you to show these kind of content nowadays.

Kamille is developing his Newype skills at a much faster rate!! He can now predict the enemy's next move before it even happens!

I feel sorry for Milla being killed like that. But i knew there were lots of red flags, even the music where Kamille was hiding is a signal that someones gonna die any moment now.

Hopefully Jerid will learn from this, just as he killed Kamille's mother.

So the non Newtype good pilots are called Oldtype??

The celebration was kinda wrong, but this is war so it's understandable.

Now i can see how Shinn Asuka from Gundam Seed Destiny tends to celebrate every battle and take it all in.

Can't wait for the next episodes! This show is dark as hell and i love it!!

The PV's are freaking spoilery though. So i guess i'll skip it like what i did when they revealed Matilda's death way before it even happened!!

Finally, we're getting context. I liked the background concerning how newtypes come to exist, but I wonder why it happens more with some than others. What led to the incredible growth of newtype ability in Amuro and Lalah as opposed to Char, Sayla, and the White Base crew in general?

Also, it's a little hazy what aspect of space causes prediction-like abilities, but this is still a great start.

After hearing the explanation of what happened to this Side, the AEUG finally feels relevant. Now I think I might actually care if the Argama loses the Gundams, whereas I was more or less indifferent before. I liked the comparison of the Argama to the White Base, btw; I thought aesthetically it looked similar. I can't help but wonder if Char had anything to do with that.

I didn't appreciate the surprise nudity. Eh.

Also, I didn't expect Lila to die at the start of the episode, but it became pretty clear what would happen once Kamille started fighting her. I think that's the first significant death in the series in terms of combatants.

This was probably my favorite episode so far, overall.

Don't worry about trying to use logic/science to establish a causal link between living in space and newtypery. All you need to know is that that is a thing; don't worry about how it happens or why it works, because Quess makes it all meaningless in CCA anyway.

Wait, what the heck is an "oldtype"? is that the opposite of a "newtype"?

Also, Kamille kills two people and yet is still all like "I don't wanna be a soldier yet"
What the hell, Kamille!? You were just in a battle and killed two people, like or or not, you ARE a soldier!

Urgh, they just killed off the forth-most interesting character -_- Well, she also just became interesting as she became emotionally invested in the conflict, but still... This show is currently completely lacking in characters that I actually care about :s

However, I must say that it is getting politically interesting. I'm very happy to find out the reason for Earthlings to discriminate against and eliminate those who were born in space. It is a trope by now, I suppose, but I am really happy to see it in this series. Newtypes are getting incorporated in the Gundam universe well :)

I am curious if Serenity was influenced by this episode...

Lastly, still no slaps? Damn...

Poor Lila. Her, Emma and Char are my favorite characters, but Jerid may be getting up there too. Happy to finally start getting the broader picture, the war is against Newtypes, that makes sense. This was the episode I least wanted to punch Kamille, so I'm not sure if it's growth on his part, or if he just offered a one episode reprieve from his most annoying aspects.

Nice wink at the desolated Texas colony with this useful detour illustrating the behavior of the Titans. They are not only hunting down Zeon remnants, they are actively erasing any possible rise of Zeonism. (the panels clearly said "get the Earth to Nature" and "autonomous colonies")
There might also be some angst against Newtypes (manifesting as a global spacenoids dislike).

Lila died before she could mold Jerid, let's hope it will still allow him to change. +1in motivation for the rivalry (like the Lalad Sune incident).

Camille has never been so quiet. I still want them to land soon on Earth and take Amuro with them!

PS: Camille's latent NT abilities are already far above Amuro's after the same amount of time.

Better than the last, the narrative can still flies to be interesting in the dialogues and action seen during the armed confrontation yet another. Choreography and direction, good, Tomino, brutally puts out another character that was beginning to like it, Lila goodbye. Drawings and animations more than good, given the seniority.

I'm glad this anime is actually getting better because this episode was pretty good. I wasn't expecting Lila to die so soon and so easily considering how impressive she has looked throughout. She was able to handle herself against Quattro so I would expect her to do better here.

Looks like Kamille finally decided to be a real pilot and shoot someone down.

Don't try to make sense of this shit, because it quite simply doesn't make sense. At all.

Sorry for the 2 years delay.
Could it be this way - the new type abilities are already developed in humans but are dormant. They are unlocked in space under great psychological pressure.

Not a fan of Quess thou.

A nice Gundam feel (politics, the heavy toll in war, etc.), this... so far is my favorite episode of the show and it is a shame because Lila Milla Rira was killed in it. She grew on me and I will miss her...

It was a pretty good and low-key emotional episode. I especially love the moment when Kamille places the chold corpse's hand on the chest of his now dead mother who he tried to cling to for safety as the poison gas went off such a long time ago. It's especially sweet given that a few episodes ago, he lost both of his parents.
"Anti-elitists" are the true elitists of this community. They're the kind of people that remind me that the elitist stereotype they perpetuate basically doesn't exist, and those who use it to scapegoat embody practically every trait they put into the stereotype, as they sit in their ivory tower looking down at and attacking people they disagree with because they're being negative on a show they like, and their favorites list is comprised of at least one non-mainstream classic, all the while cowering at the idea of those people giving them a taste of their own medicine. Also, objectivity in art is relative, therefore arguable, not nonexistent.

Kokoro did nothing wrong.
