In ancient times, the Hinduism created the term DEVA to refer entities who are related to the divinities of Hinduism. Deva well-known examples are Ganesh and Lakshmi. For entities not related to that Gods, they named ASURA. Well known example of Asura is the Illusion Goddess MAYA

In other parts of the world and much later, a lost language named AVESTA trade the meaning, having relation with the first monotheistic religion, the ZOROASTRISM, and saying that ASURA, now called ASHURA were the goodies, but the DEVA, now called DAEVA aren't. So, later, the words corrupted even more, until Ashura turns ANGEL and Deva turns DAEMON, or DEMON

Doing this etymology analysis, we can't be sure who is the "right" one, and years ago I came to the conclusion the Universal Forces are struggling and none of them is "good and sweet": they're just different
