THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Namikawa-san as alien who lost memory, is so lol~. And his memory came back when getting something valuable back. WOW really scary at the end!

lol @ E.T. gesture!

The character by Shichika's seiyuu was different.

Both OP and ED rock!

I was kinda disappointed in the name they chose for this series...

I thought it was gonna be something like another season of "Code E" or "Mission E" But instead it's some crazy alien show...

Well this is certainly... 'unique' lol. I like it so far, but it'll take a few episodes to grow on me. And what a freaky alien at the end..

The name is based on a manga from 1995, which far pre-dates Code E.

Anyway, loved the opening theme and the first episode was pretty good. At least, it's better than most of the other shit than has come out so far. I'll give it at least 3 episodes.

I been waiting for this anime to finally air and it's finally here and it hasn't disappointed. The ET was pure gold, but my favorite was him acting out what happen with the puppets and saying he has the making's of being a physopathic killer. :D The OP and ED's were great also. Its already over and I can't wait for the next ep to come.

Oh, wow. This took me with it. I fell in love with this episode >.< And seems that it'll get better ^^

OP and ED are really amazing, and the art is great. I think this might become one of my favourite series, I'll just see that :D
Signature coming as soon as I get motivation to change it soon

If I ever saw something so hideous in person...like many people would immediately think: Kill it with fire!! But nonetheless a funny show.

Best 1st episode of new season... It was just right in every way, specially the humor was much funnier than Beelzebub for example, even though its not a comedy show

I haven't read the manga but the first ep of the anime was pretty good. AverageJoe with common sense shares a room with a far-out alien guy.
The comedic parts and reaction faces were great, but it seems this will have a more serious take on the situation than previous titles (like Arakawa or ToLoveRu)

Amazing OP. Enjoyed the whole episode. The characters are likeable and the possible story to come from this excites me.

Definitely one of my favourites this season (Which is a very very good season)

8.5/10 for Episode 1.

And there I thought it will be up to noitaminA again to deliver the first great episode. Really liked this one. Characters, plot, visuals, everything seems intereting so far...and also I like the comedy of this show.

This was surprisingly good. Clide is a very enjoyable character, and the whole story isn't half bad.

I'll agree the ET was awesome coming from nowhere, and the puppets were good. I also enjoyed all the other squabbles, and the enthusiastic landlord.

I'd have to say this will be fun at least.

Dammit! Why can't some hot alien guy forcibly move in with me? Anime has done nothing but mess with my expectations!! LOL!
I think this show is going to be a fun ride! Can't wait for the next ep!

Gotta say, David Production strikes again. This show had the best first episode of this season (yet).

I don't usually watch shows like this with the whole alien plot but I kind of like it. Although El's true alien form is super freaky! Like it looks like some big ass big.. truly creeps me out. Hopefully he does not revert back to it anytime during the show o.O

Better then I thought it was going to be from the premise and title. Will follow this one methinks. I thought the opening was cool too with the funky colours and random alien switching.... still dint get to know blondie's name in this ep but the next im guessin? makes me intrigued about the manga its based on too as its from a fairly old one

It was funny, but still... the gayish tension at some points ruined the episode

Haha the comedy is as great as I hoped it would be, I just love it when Namikawa Daisuke plays weird characters xD This is the show I was most looking forward to and so far it didn't disappoint~

Tbh , I wasn't going to start this anime . When I saw the cover I thought "NO!" , then read the description and it was still a no but I was wondering if it actually had some worth since it got animated so maybe first impression isn't right , so I came to read the epi 1 comments here and everyone said they loved it (especially a comment that said it had better humor than beelzebub xD) so I thought "what the heck , let's try it" and I LOVED IT <3 xD

I rly did xD It was seriously good ! The ET , the puppets , the psychopath killer comment , his whole attitude xD Priceless <3 So I'm sure I'm gonna stick with it till the end unless it turn horribly bad which I doubt .
Also , the alien at the end ... I crossed my fingers to exorcise it xD

I loved the OP <3 The ED was normal imo , I liked that it started with him talking and I RLY liked the night sky in his eye <3 (when typing this , it sounds pretty ew xD but you know the scene xD)

Great first episode. For me, it's competing with Beelzebub for favorite of the season.

On a random note, while Studio Pierrot's production values are usually solid, this is by far the best looking thing they've produced, though it may be from what David Productions is tossing in.

Hahaha! E.T phone home. Lol!

I actually laughed quite a lot. Is this show supposed to be comedy too?

It's nice seeing a show with a different atmosphere from the usual staff. The main character also seems more like a normal person than the those pussy fagots we get in the more moe/fanservice/harem whatever anime.

The Alien took the form of a bishonen while in reality his one ugly motherfucker. Yes that how bishonens really look muhahahaha!

If this alien guy would act the same for the least of the series - I'll definitely would watch it. OP and ED are good and I love such character designs the most.

If I'm not mistaken - they would make 13 eps.

I must say, I had reasonably solid standards for this series, given that Togashi was behind the manga, but it was better than I thought it would be, since I'm only used to him doing battle manga. The relationship dynamic between the two leads is pretty interesting and makes for some good laughs. It also looks like it has the potential to be a pretty solid sci-fi drama, which I hear it's better known for. Could be one of my favorites this season.

I also noticed that this series noticeably has THE best production values of anything else released this season(given Madoka's visuals, that's saying something). Frankly I'm not used to a Studio Pierrot anime being this pretty. Perhaps it's the reason why Beelzebub just looks average visually right now...

Not sure if I like it yet or not. I like the story and it's very interesting. Didn't really like how it all came together though, very weird transitions. I just wish the alien guy looked better. H'is looks kinda annoy me.

This season seems to be shaping up pretty good after all, I was quite doubtful last week - but now I've seen three good episodes in a row.

I find it ironic that the voice actor of Kurono Kei from Gantz is voicing an alien. Oh, and the opening is great.

I liked the ED more than the OP.

Interesting intro but the direction is absolutely horrendous. I'll continue watching but I reall hope it'll improve.

A lot funnier, and better animation than I was expecting. I thought they'd make it look really cheap, but it doesn't look too bad!

I didn't read much past here in the manga. So I guess after episode 2, it'll be all new material for me. Hopefully the rest of the series will pan out well!

Lately the weird looking shows are the ones turning out to be the good ones for me, so I'm gonna try this one as well..

What the?! Arakawa's Narrator?? Alien.. Blonde.. Long Hair.. Nino's brother??

the first episode is very interesting so far, I was expecting it to be a full-blown comedy but looks like it's more serious that I thought..

Very good, and funny! The animation is also very good.

I wasn't even going to start this series... I saw the trailer and didn't liked it... Read the description... and liked even less...
But I was bored and decided to give it a try... It really surprised me. I thought I was going to hate it... And I really liked this first episode!

The voice actors were perfect (Namikawa, as always, is unbelievable xD) ... And omg... is Fumihiko Tachiki the narrator? *-*

I was expecting so much from Beelzebub anime... and got disappointed... And wasn't expecting anything from Level E... how ironic...

:D I had no idea this was coming out until today, but I'm glad I watched it! I have a feeling this is going to be incredibly bizarre, but completely satisfying to watch. Not to mention this first episode was pretty darn funny. :)

I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

I hope that is it I was getting desperate for something at least watchable this season!

Might be just me, I noticed the girl last name is Edogawa and the lab her dad works at is in the Conan prefecture when we put both together we get "Edogawa Conan" it that a Detective Conan reference?

I am kinda of glad this time its not a woman alien that is forcibly living with the protagonist. I had some good laughs I hope they keep it coming.

Not bad. I finished the manga a couple weeks ago and wasn't too impressed, but something about the anime's making me like it more.

Next week's ep should be fun if they go by the manga's storyline. I hope they kind of diverge at some point, though, since I thought some parts after this kind of dragged.

Oh, and Ouji is a douche. A fun douche with (kinda bad looking CGI) puppets and a decent ET impersonation, but still a douche.

It's... weird. It doesn't really give off the same feeling as the manga, somehow, at least for now. It's slower and less comic, but every expression is really detailed and... it just gives off a "bizarre" feeling that's captivating, somehow. :D
I mean that it's really different from what I expected based on the manga, but not necessarily in a bad way. ...Although the blatant Ouji fanservice [is really nice but] seems to scare away some people, LOL.
Either way, I'm extremely pleased if only because I'm loving to see it animated... and the opening is awesome. I must have watched it at least 10 times, now.
