Im kinda getting tired of having to pay shipping for all my anime, and the only stores that are where I live have a very limited selection, and forget about buying figures. So I was wondering if there were any anime specific stores in the state of NJ

Yup there are actually! Edgewater, in Bergen County has a small shopping plaza named Mitsuwa which is pretty much all Japanese. There is a store/shop with many anime/manga products!~ However, I haven't been there for about a year or so and I haven't checked out their current status. I would suggest going online and checking out if they have what you want and such. Hope this helps.

P.S. Bergen is upper north Jersey

and there's a place in Glassboro called Chibi A n J it looks pretty epic!
and a small store (if you went to animenext they were there) called Sugee it's in montclair on watchung ave!!

I'm doing crazy research cuz it's not fair I want more stores! NY is a pain in the ass to get to now with transit being SO expensive so I want stuff to be more local!!

To the people of this thread and all interested. I am currently in the works of opening an anime and gaming store in the Sayreville area in New Jersey. Currently I have a crowdfunding campaign out and we're already slightly over a third of the way to our goal.

I'm happy to see there are people who feel this way about wanting an anime store local to them. For that, I am here to ask for a little support. we have over $5000 of our $15,000 goal as well as trending on the indiegogo page itself. With the anime community's support, I can make this a reality not just for myself, but for all of you as well.

So please, if you will, check out the pitch and see if you like it. See if it's something you'd want. I really hate to come here and feel like I'm spamming but it's one of the sure fire ways to get in contact with the anime community.

Any questions, concerns you might have towards the opening or something you need clarification on, feel free to ask. I'm not going to ask you to support blindly. Thank you all for reading this and assuring my decision to open an anime store in New Jersey.
