Unless it's subbed I don't think I'll waste $20 on a movie ticket for ear rape EVA dub voices.

Would be nice to see it on the big screen though.

i hope its not one of those limited screen, 1 day showing things... i really don't want to go to downtown chicago to see it
"Forged in darkness with wheat harvested from Hell's half acre. Baked by Beelzabub; slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chickens, force-fed to dogs by the hands of a one-eyed madman. Cheese boiled from the rancid utters of fanged cows. Layered with 666 separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood."

Have you given Funi's 1.11 dub a watch? Because it was quite excellent, and that's not even compared to the TV series.

I can't wait for this though. Seems like it'll be awesome on the big screen.

After hearing the ear rape dub on Adult Swim when I was younger and then rewatching it with the original voice actors I refuse to go near an EVA dub.

Plus, it wont be the same without ZAA BEAASTO

Except the people who did the TV EVA dub and the Eva 1.11 dub (and subsequently the 2.22 dub) are entirely different dubbing studios. But I agree about ZAA BEAASTO part.

4 hours to Chicago is too far to drive for a movie I've already seen.

Well, they can't really show it at just every theater. If it got as wide a release as your average Hollywood movie, each theater would sell, like, 20 tickets or less total.

Just booked my tickets last night. Not crazy about watching it dubbed, though. Maybe I'll wear earplugs and just enjoy the visuals.

Once the DVD is released I plan to have a viewing party with other fans in the city. We'll watch it projected onto the wall and subbed as it was meant to be.
