Yes, it took ages. Yes, the name is lame. Yes, we're doing it anyway.

The second Music Addicts AMV Contest is here, and the topic is Drama Or Comedy. Something made you laugh your ass off? Something made you cry for hours? Use it for the AMV Contest and win a little flashy banner and the right to say you won a contest in MyAnimeList.net's biggest music club!

Theme: Comedy or Drama

Rules
:
  • no Violation of MAL Rules (no nudity etc.)
  • Theme: Funny Anime Moments / Dramatic Anime Moments
  • Every anime used in the AMV must be of either the comedy genre or the drama genre
  • The entry must be submitted via Private Message to either Kanashimi or me
  • Do not reveal your entry before the deadline
  • Credit for music and anime used must be included in the video
  • AMV must entirely be created by the person who submits it for the contest
  • User who submits the video must be a member of the Music Addicts Club
  • Maximum length: 4 minutes
  • Minimum length: 1 minute
  • If you can, use clean sources without subtitles. If you can't, that's okay too.
  • Allowed filetypes: .divx, .avi, .mkv, .mov
  • Entry Deadline: 4 weeks
  • Voting Deadline: 2 weeks

Big thanks to my Co-Host Kanashimi once again and always for helping me out with this. She was way more experience with AMVs and contests.

Also, thanks to Malon, Mathes, and Kaiserpingvin for help regarding the rules.

If you have any questions, feel free to post here or message Kana or me.

Go all out! The last AMV Contest was great, I hope to see some familiar as well as new users in this contest. Oh and label your entries if the sad moments contain spoilers, ne? :D

Damn, I knew the next contest would be limited to some kind of genres. I'm having a pretty neat idea for an AMV since months, however I don't think it would fit into the current genre limitations. Well, maybe next time.

However - maybe something good may pop up in my head and i might enter as well, but I'm not sure so far.

Yeah, we're not going to keep the contests limited to to genres forever, if you have a good idea, feel free to share it. :D

so nudity isn't allowed, but what about violence as I have a good idea for the drama, but I need to know that first?

Violence is fine. Just don't overdo it and use some utterly disturbing scenes. It's still a Fun contest, so your entry shouldn't be shocking everyone who views your video. xP

After getting some input via Messages, we changed the rules about the subtitles. If you can use clean sources, use them. But if there are subtitles in your video, that's okay too. Thanks for the input!

We're always mentioning 'the video' in the rules, so one video per user. (:

Right, you guys have one week left and there are zero entries so far. I thought there were some people interested in this? Might as well make this the last contest. :P

Nobody replied to that so far. Makes me wonder if there's anyone even working on an AMV for the contest ... D:

Right, I'm closing the contest.

There were no submissions at all and a single submission after the deadline. When I closed the last contest, so many people were like GIVE NEXT CONTEST!! but I guess something came up. There will be no more contests, thanks for your, uh, interest.

To be fair I'll show the one entry that was submitted, because it is a very nice one and worth showing.

Xyik's Entry

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AO7I1DSA | direct download | .wmv | 74.1mb | (alternative .avi version)

Anime: One Piece
Song: Savior (30 Seconds to Mars)
Software: Sony Vegas 6.0, Virtual Dub

Description:

This AMV focuses on the Enies Lobby Arc of the One Piece Anime. I tried my best to depict each character's tragic past and how because of it, they were able to stand strong, become the people they are today, accept Robin for who she was and give their lives to rescue her. It was these tear-jerking aspects of the series that motivated me enough to try my best and make an AMV that would depict it all. Sacrifices were made, trust remained strong, people were saved and the story goes on.
