| It might just be me (it really could) but, anyone else thought that everything that's related to blood drinking in Vampire Knight kinda feels like love/sex? I mean, it might be hard to explain without pulling out spoilers but, when "you know who" offers his/her blood to "that other you know who", there was this whole atmosphere... or when that vampire in ep 8 describes the feeling of drinking blood... *cough* so yeah, whot does everyone think? |

| Drinking blood has often been a very sensual thing in Vampire literature, and with freako goths and hemophiles (in the bloodletting/swapping sense, not the medical sense) but yeah, it's quite often portrayed as a sexual ordeal. |

| Heh, took me a while to see this topic, but I've felt the same about this issue from the start. VK seems to go out of its way to equate the act of drinking blood to sex. To be honest, this makes the show about 10x more entertaining to me (does that make me a perv? ^^;), because it makes it pretty soap opera-ish -- and also unusual for a shoujo. I sincerely *hope* that Hino Matsuri intended this ... otherwise it would be unintentionally pretty funny o.o |

| It's also a way for Vampires to learn more about the other person. Each time they bite and drink blood they gain whatever knowledge that person has up to that point. That's one reason why everyone wants a pure blooded vampire's blood. But ya, its generally linked to sex and romance. |

| I just wanted to start a topic according to this subject. Glad I am not alone seeing in every blood-sucking scene a metaphor to sex. I know vampires should be portrayed as seducing and sex, but after seeing few episodes of Karin and Hellsing (I don't remember the thought of blood-sucking as equivalent of sex in those) I didn't know if it was just me who thought there was something about this anime... |
