| If a Pokemon MMO(RPG) game were to come out, would you play it? Do you think Nintendo will ever come out with one? If so, how would you like it to be like? As for me, I would like the option for trainers to have customizable appearances and the ability to control your Pokemon when using the fly move (like in World of Warcraft). Monthly/yearly tournaments in-game would be nice too. |

| The Pokemon franchise was pretty much always tailored to be a MMO by it's format. It's nice that people are making little fan-work online games, and hopefully for reasons other than revenue. But they'll never be made on the quality of an actual worthy Pokemon game or MMORPG. One of these days Gamefreak will have to finally get out up their game to what it has always been dreamed of and geared toward. They're not only going to have to ditch handhelds, but they're going to have to learn to do more things to improve multiplayer and stay with the time. It's always been a mulitplayer game, and it was excusable that there was greater in terms of multiplayer years ago, because that was nearly the limit of technology. Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games were in their infancy stages, and little more than advanced MUDs, and not very profitable. But it's been over a decade since then and the MMORPG genre alone has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry. Pokemon: "I want to be the very best Pokemon Master"; PvP. More about exploring than carrying forward a story: Very MMORPG friendly. Pokemon: very Grind heavy and focused - MMORPGs, very Grind heavy and focused. Pokemon: Multiplayer created and intended game: MMO games, the highest evolution of the multiplayer game. Everything about the franchise just screams an MMORPG. Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. We'll get a console release long before anything crazy like that. And a true console release may still be a long time in coming. |
