| WOW! That was the best strategy I've seen in an anime in a long time. That worked out so well and it didn't even seem a tad bit unrealistic. That was some good philosophy at the end about how common folk are used during wars just as they were in this episode. The ending of the episode was also kind of sad because that hold town was just destroyed. The plot of this series has yet to cease to amaze me. It seems that this next episode is gonna be when the real fighting starts! |

| Most of the higher ups Alliance are such douchebags. Poor Franz he worked so hard to give the people their harvests back and he was a generally nice guy. Wenli is still my favorite character overall in the series so far while Reinhard is the best. xD |

| Y'know, I'm actually interested in seeing more of Franz and Therese. Boy how the tables turned with one fell swoop. Ironic how the liberators became even more dastardly oppressors once it was their supplies on the line. A real shame too since I was starting to like the Alliance for thinking to cultivate the land and provide the citizens with tools for prosperity. As always, even among these dire conditions one can't help but laugh at the irony when the farmer blew up the truck full of supplies with a Molotov cocktail. |

| Pretty boring little one-shot. Kind of blunt with the point it makes. Fork frothing out might have been funny but it was also awfully clumsy storytelling; the mentally or morally weak man is also physically infirm as a metaphor. It lacks nuance. The most interesting thing is softhearted Siegfriend's discomfort at the callousness of Reinhard's plan. This is the first thing they've really disagreed about, although Siegfried barely shows it. |
| Shit, if I was Reinhard I would be celebrating as well...A truly well executed plan my friend. Lol the show is surprisingly funny at times and I love how subtle it is about it. What makes the scene hilarious to me, is the reaction of the admiral that was arguing with Fork. He was more concerned about learning what had just transpired rather than Fork's well-being. After they told him what was up, he was all "ah cool, anyways..." xD |

| Another excellent episode, Reinhard's plan is almost perfect. I like how the anime is not biased towards anything, it all feels natural. |

| I don't get how the empire magically took out the grain transports? From my understanding in this universe, the space that the spaceships can fly through is pretty narrow. So how did the imperial get past the frontline military fleet to attack the grain transports??? In fact it doesnt even really show the imperial fleet travelling to the grain sports, they teleported to them. |

Space is really big; the Alliance even with tens of thousands of ships, could not conceivably occupy all the star systems it captured. All the Empire need to do is to wait until the Alliance transport fleet exits the Iserlohn Corridor (the narrow chokepoint) and then strike it before it can reach any Alliance occupation zones |
| 2021 Rewatch Great OVA, great story arc. Really showing the consequences of the actions of big players in this war. But it looks like to me their planet was kinda dead long before the Empire's attempt to counter this invasion by taking supplies off the planet so the FPA would be forced to give them theirs. Any way, as Thomas Sankara put it: Those who come with wheat, millet, corn or milk, they are not helping us. Those who really want to help us can give us ploughs, tractors, fertilizer, insecticide, watering cans, drills, dams. That is how we would define food aid. Valleymunt and FPA do bring some agricultural expertise so the civilians on the planet can grow food on their own. But to paraphrase the civilians, that was only good until the next harvest. So Franz Valleymunt likely got into the FPA military academy only to study what he wanted for free, much like Yang. In Valleymunt's case, he wanted to do Botany. Like Yang again, his knowledge was applicable to the war effort (though only in the short-run due to the Imperial Scorched Earth strategy). I love that Yang-the-Historian brings out the comparison to Napoleon's failed invasion of Russia. The ending theme playing over the burning house was quiet emotional. |

| Fork was unfit for his role from the beggining it seems Council is literaly a joke this whole battle just shows certain flaws of democratic country where upcoming elections are more important than millions of lives, alliance is just a mess once again along with another old fart admiral taking a nap in the middle of it all Besides those problems this was a very great episode, next one might be even more intrresting in terms of how much more alliance will suffer |
