| According to Nikkei Newspaper May 26, Kadokawa will examine all the anime videos related to their products and put ads to the videos which meet conditions below: 1. The video has a moderate length ("few minutes" they said). 2. The DVD of the anime has not been released. 3. The video does not contain other copyright holder's material. 4. The video does not insult the anime. Mixing different anime videos are also allowed as long as all the titles are Kadokawa anime. Improper videos will be deleted. If the uploaders show up in the video or edit it elaborately, Kadokawa will share the profits from the ads with them. For the time being, they will send a free ticket of Kadokawa movies to the contributors. Nikkei newspaper Some information are copied from the offline newspaper. |

| so does this basically mean that they mean to stick adds into AMV's instead of deleting them? if so, then i think that many if not most of the AMV makers will self delete and reupload rather than have their videos treated like that. not that i don't understand the counter argument here ofc, i just don't think it'll go over well. |

| shouldn't they be doing this to full length eps and not AMVs? Somehow I don't think putting ads at the beginning or end of an AMV is going to persuade me to buy anything. Now if it was an episode, then maybe, just maybe id buy whatever it was they where selling. It's doubtful though. |

| I basically agree with their approach, but I wonder how many vids meet these strict conditions. Youtube and Kadokawa developed a new copyright infringement detection system. They claim they can detect all the vids containing Kadokawa anime and they will examine them one by one. It's still unclear Kadokawa accepts fansubs of the whole episode. How long do they mean by "few minutes"? Youtube already has a 10min restriction. |

| Just one more reason not to watch your AMVs on Youtube or any other steaming site. Aside from the quality being s***, now this. Download them from Animemusicvideos.org people, you'll be better off. |

| It would be nice if this was used on episodes so the rightful owners of the series could get some clear benefit from fansubs and such. On the other hand, it would get quite irritating in AMVs and other short videos. |
| See this is why i dont use youtube anymore. I use veoh to watch amv's plus u can download them too from the website and it has a higher quality videos than youtube. |

So some songs can be used and Youtube has to handle how to divide the profits between Kadokawa and musicians. | The obvious solution is to add a few second clip of yourself to whatever videos you show. |
