| The beginning of a long friendship. Kircheis was nervous to meet people of high social status/class but Reinhard and Annerose are a just nice neighbours. Then came the day, Sebastian von Müsel sold his daughter for marks. Just look at the expressions when Reinhard fought back and kept bashing that boy's head with a rock, and the bloodstains afterwards. Didn't have the chocolate torte in the novel, though. We also get Oberstein's introduction and given he has a birth defect, a mention of Kaiser Rudolf's cruel Inferior Genes Exclusion Act. |

| Kind of a very typical backstory.. but it felt incomplete.. I hope we will get to see the story of how Reinhard and Kircheis left school and became soldiers climbing upto their current positions. I wonder how Annerose helped Reinhard and Kircheis though, with her connections. |

| felt that something in previous episodes was lacking. probably the lack of tactic or political views. still was good background for reinhard and sieg. |

| That backstory was a little bit odd at times, but it makes sense, Reinhard is a gifted person from childhood, thanks to his sister he is already feeling this mature for such age, still it was stupid bringing a gun into that palace and getting away without concequences was just dumb luck I guess Him and Kircheis are gonna have a very interesting journey to reach the absolute top of the Empire |
| he saw Annerose and told to himself "to infinity and beyond" sometimes the foundation for a friendship is how much you like your new friend's older sister xD The way he went from basically smashing that kid's head with a stone to just casually salute Sieg, just another day for that blond kid. What were those guards(?) planning to do? Just watch who was causing a scene lol. |
