THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
A happy ending to a series of misunderstandings. There always has be a lover chasing lover scene or two in a rom-com, and it was nice to see it play out in animated form.

Kyoko has been as hypocritical as ever of late - going out with Mitaka and calling their outings actual dates, in response to Godai doing what she started doing - but it was nice to see her show her true feelings for Godai, at the end of episode 31. I know full well nothing is going to change, and that there will be a lot more Mitaka drama to come, but MI gets tiresome when nothing whatsoever occurs for a lengthy period.

Just like with the manga, MI is excellent when Kyoko isn't attacking Godai for doing the exact same things as her; ignoring the fact she actively goes on dates with Mitaka and never responded to Godai's confession. I'm always torn between joy and frustration but never bored, in spite of the lack of ANYTHING advancing.

I've burned through 31 episodes in a couple of days, and I'll probably burn through a similar amount in the next few. With my manga memories faded and MI being as addictive as ever, it's close to experiencing the series for the first time again.

Loved this episode. Finally a bit of Kyoko's facade breaks down and we see a bit of her feeling for Godai-kun showing.

Oh man that 2-episode story was offensively bad... Godai acted like a complete moron, Kyoko like a bitch, the tenants like callous bastards... and the list goes on...

BTW is it me or is Akemi's negligee getting less and less transparent...

lol actually Akemi's negligée was the least transparent in this particular ep. but otherwise the comment stands truer anyday

That was deep! I think Mitaka stands no chance. But I wonder how representative this would stand in real life - with Mitaka handsome, more mature, wealthy and well prepared while Godai is mostly projected as indolent and an unstable youth, younger than Kyoko but who nonetheless has the opportunity to spand a lot of time with her.
I think in our contemporary society Godai wouldn't stand a chance since Mitaka would have been able to spand more time with Kyoko, clubbing and even introducing her to his friends as opposed to Kyoko's being constantly in the presence of Godai and his friends. That's the only stronghold of Godai when you think about it - he's friends with the other residents of the boarding house with whom Kyoko bonds as well. But I doubt this would be enough if this was 2011.

Exactly what I was thinking, the scene at the end was touching. It was nice to see Kyoko was actually out searching everywhere for him, she truly does care about him. She begged for his return as she shed tears in apology.

Great episode. Glad they summed it up in 2 episodes. It was painful to see Kyoko so unconsciously jealous.

Rewatched this randomly. Am I the only one that thinks "Cinema" by Picasso is one of the coolest ED songs in anime? And love the montage with it.

Fucking hell. I'm starting to wonder if this manga/anime was responsible for making misunderstandings a staple of shoujo manga (and I know this was originally in a seinen magazine).
I was also getting tired of Kyoko's hypocrisy, so I'm glad she's finally starting to realize how much she cares about Godai.

That ending was so satisfying, that I'll forgive Kyoko for her actions of lying to Godai about his room being taken just because of a misunderstanding and jealousy. I felt so bad for Godai when he was trying to clarify things and Kyoko just didn't want to reason. Also, that was so mean( and clever) of Sakamoto to use ladies shoes to trick Godai into leaving his place( that's not what friends do!)Anyway, I'm glad Godai can come home to where he belongs :)

How did Kyoko keep up running wih Godai? She was wearing highheels and was drunk in some level.

Anyway, thank god it's over. This was quite boring story.

I've ran in relatively high heels and it isn't that difficult if you're used to it, of course it's not the same that wearing sneakers but I gotta say Kyoko's heels aren't that high.

That was a rather weak 2 episode arc, once again based on a many misunderstandings that could easily have been resolved by a little communication, embedded by two rather weak filler episodes.
And the conclusion of it was too short.

What happened to Godais pawned stuff? What happened to the hole in the wall in Ep. 32? (It was nailed shut in Ep. 31).

Finally some development of Kyoko's character, her hyporcrisy is really getting on my nerves. I felt so bad for Godai. Why does Rumiko Takahashi always have to create main female characters as huge hypocrites in her manga?

My God those two couples give 0 amount of fucks,I have never seen anything like this.
1.Living illegally there
2.Sold Godai's stuff and eat expensive food in front of him holy fuck
3.lock my man outside.

Damn manager to go that far as to lie that there are no available rooms then just start dating the guy already,it's way too obvious now that you're one complicated jealous girl.

Yuusaku is such an idiot that is not a surprise that he thought it was a good idea asking them, when they are drunk, to explain the situation to Kyouko but Kyouko is starting to catch up with him with her own stupidity, what a perfect match.

So many trains.

Kyoko san is in love with Godai san, she needs to make herself understrand it first. Running after Godai san like that while drunk and in high heels takes will power.

Real tears for the second time ;-;
