A name like Envy's should never be said in such a dirty thread. Good call, though.

Linkin Park.. emo? I think not.

Oh, and though I don't listen to it myself, I believe "true" emo is a particular style of 80s punk music.

This.
Also, if you're looking for actual emo music, Rites of Spring and Circle Takes the Square are good. The former of which is a little dated though.

Not all of the bands you have listed up is emo and screamo.. >.>;;
Bands like Underoath, Chiodos and so on is Post-hardcore while Avenged Sevenfold is more like metalcore.
Be carefull when you stick that many, and different, bands together in one category.
Not everyone gets happy with that ^_~

Tokio Hotel. Both emo and screamo. Not my favorite but it is quite popular.
Alexis on Fire too. They're pretty much screamo.

I like some of the bands there and SoD, Linkin Park, and Blink 182 I, personally, think are more rock/punk then emo/screamo. But then again, I don't know much emo/screamo music so i'm not exactly an expert to differentiatiate.

From first to last?
Escape the Fate??
Shadows Fall???
In Flames????

So, what's NOT emo/scremo then huh?
As far as I understand, real Emo was a genre that died sometimes in the mid nineties.
Is everything with hints of emotional voices emo now?

[going by Wiki and last.fm's definitions, btw]

Emo: Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, early AFI, Cobra Starship, Paramore, The Used

Screamo: Avenged Sevenfold (maybe?)

Other good stuff: Mad Capsule Markets, Gay For Johnny Depp, Atreyu

I think I'll be looking for some Fugazi after I post this, heh :3

I disagree. There are plenty of good metal-core bands....
Protest the Hero and Between the Buried and Me for starters.
...and for post-hardcore :
Envy & The Fall of Troy.
