If done well, cosplay can be AWESOME. Thankfully I have some very talented friends that share it with me. :)

I am indifferent. It's not like I go anywhere I would encounter a person cosplaying anyway.

I also lol'd.

Cosplay's just a bit of fun for the majority of people who do it. So I'm up for it.

I like looking at the costumes. I see nothing wrong with it whatsoever. I tried it once and it wasn't for me but I think the people who do it and put a lot of effort in it do a really good job. It's just a part of the anime fanbase as AMV/MAD makers, doujinshi artists, and fanfics.

If we got 80% or higher let me know! :)

I don't like cosplay only because I think people who enjoy dressing as fictional characters and acting as if they were them have serious psicological problems. Really, get a life, a REAL life!

Psychological problems? Haha! I can see where you're coming from. Alot of crazy otaku get all obsessive about it and whatnot. To a point where it's kind of...odd.

I looooove cosplay, though. Actually I'm planning on going to a con later this year and cosplaying as Haruhi Suzumiya. (Nothing really extravagant but fun none the less!) It's fun to emulate the characters one looks to! I like making the costumes and all that. It's really worth it at the end of the day to see your finished project.

I love cosplay. Planning to cosplay at the con later this year I'm heading too. Same with most of my friends. I really only go to the conventions for the cosplay. Obviousl, I only like the really well made ones (like people who attempt those crazy Trinity Blood costumes). Heh, I'm sorry for having psychological problems *sarcasm*.

I don't give a crap either way. I'm planning to cosplay at a con this year (Look out for a Rin Kagamine at Animania, Aussies out there ;D), but it's not something I'm a fan of. I just want to try it out once and see how it goes down. As for other people's cosplays, well, I don't give a crap about that either. If I see I nice one, I'm impressed, and if I see a bad one, I lol. I am glad however, that I haven't met any snotty loser cosplayers. But I'm sure there's a few down under.

I neither love nor hate cosplay. However, I do have a firm belief that if you don't fit the part, don't dress it. I understand some people want to show their love for certain characters/animes but all they end up doing is making themselves look like jerks when they look nothing like the character.

I've seen some really amazing beautiful cosplay though. Like this girl? I saw her site when looking up pictures for the Red Rose's from Miyuki chan in wonderland. Now she is an awesome cosplayer. http://www.wegebau-leibelt.de/elsch/cos_complete.html

I hate it since:

1. It creates an image of an anime-freak, otaku without life- and then anyone who watches anime is stigmatised as a freak...

2. It hardy ever look good- even if the person is handsome- because you cant imitate the hair and face of an anime character...

3. The costumes are usually bad quality...

So the final effect is unbearable for the true art and beaty lover as myself...(:

I've never done it, never had the time or energy in actually preparing anything and also I just don't think it's my thing. But one of my friends is really into it and she shows me a lot of her costumes. She puts so much effort into it that it's obvious why they are so proud of their costumes.

I strongly dislike it, which is one of the main reasons that I hate Halloween, because it is too similar.

Though, if the cosplay is REALLY good, I like it (rarely, though).

It's kind of strange to me. Only works in societies where people have too much free time.

My answer is the same as always...if you have that much free time, spend it doing something useful. Who am I to talk though? I'm just as bad with my bad habits.

Cosplaying can be really fun if done right and I won't even hate it if the person cosplaying it is abit out of place but i can't stand it if the ones cosplaying is trying to insult whichever character they are cosplaying. One example will be some fat hairy man cosplaying as Card Captor Sakura or Rozen Maiden, that almost put a stop to my heart and I feel like slashing them with a katana.

Agree..I've seen some really bad cosplays. I don't want to be mean or anything but you should only cosplay if you can actually pull it off otherwise you might just look really silly.

I like cosplay and wouldn't mind trying it at least once. However, I need to lose about 50 lbs so i can even resemble the body type of any of the characters I'd cosplay as. I don't like people that are 50 lbs overweight cosplaying as a skinny anime character so I won't do the same.
