I <3 a bit of it. But I tend to hate it when the cosplayer is not suit for the character. They look disastrous.

Although I'm not cosplayer (but if everything goes as planned I will become one this year) I love it! :D It's just a way to have fun and it brings more life to anime/manga happenings! Honestly I don't like bad looking cosplaying either if it looks bad because of laziness BUT you have to remember some of them are first timers trying to do their best :)

I appreciate it, if it's good. I've seen quite a few really good looking cosplayers already.

Too bad 90% of them fail hard...

I cosplay myself, and I generally like it.
but there are things that people do sometimes in cosplay
that just get on my nervs like half assing the costume or not finishing it.
IE: like someone has the whole costume together but doesn't have a wig or the wrong type of accessories, I won't say it to your face but seriously you need to work on that.

also NEON wigs are just plain annoying.
plus girls who crossplay who don't bind...people will stare at your boobs instead of your costume.

not from experience, but I have seen people in some videos trying to crossplay and not bind..it scary D:
I have to stop myself from going to the nearest convenience store and getting them ace bandages. lol.
god I sound so perverted but it's true.

open chest bindings amaze me when girls can pull that one off. I'd be too damn scared something would pop out if I attempted that xD.

It's not scary, it's just sad. I crossplayed already, but I held my microbes and trained really hard to hold "male" habits, so people would only notice I'm a girl when I talked more than two words. However, most people don't even have a character, they are just dressing up and being themselves. That is what annoys me.

There is bad cosplay out there, but since this is a question of cosplay in general, then i love cosplay. I love it, because without cosplay, this picture of a Misa cosplayer wouldn't exist.

I think a person should be able to do whatever they of cosplay, doesnt matter that others might dislike it. The "outsiders" will always think whatever they want, often bad or slighting, but if the people are having fun and are interested in something...why shouldnt they be allowed to?

I don't do it myself often, although I have in the past. I do like to see others. Some people really put a great effort into it, and I think they can at least be admired for finishing something.

Why isn't there a middle option? Manfaye and Sailor Bubba are terrible scourges to be sure, but there are also some quite drool worthy examples of the opposite.

I'm not a cosplayer but enjoy watching people dressed like anime characters.
It's true that are people that are dressed 'wrong'.

People dressing as their favorite anime and videogame characters. What's wrong with that? It's like a fashion show but with edgy customs and make up. No big deal.

I hate the ones which look revolting.
I don't mind the ones which look OK
and I respect the ones who look amazing and wonder how much effort it took.
But generally I dislike it - surely there's better things to do? Just be yourself rather than some anime drawing?
Thats my opinion though

I don't really like cosplays, because the essence of an anime cannot be given back by any actors, no matter how good he/she is.

People who pull the character off nicely in terns of costume design (basic or advanced) and can be in and out of character easily I'm good with. I've seen some great cosplay costumes such as a really great Macha from .hack//SIGN and Hikaru from Angelic Layer and even Optimums Prime.

I hate when people cross dress, and I especially hate people who cosplay that should NOT cosplay. Like Mr. Sailor moon

Its so much fun to just play dress-up sometimes. . . . I love it, I don't do it, would if I could though. . .

There are some good cosplayers and bad ones. . . its fun to get a laugh though sometimes. Its great to see people having fun, even if it blinds people temporarily

I do kinda find it weird to dress as fictional characters, unless it's for like a convention or something. I get that it's whatever...

Making accounts specifically for shearing it on the internet with strangers that often don't care about cosplay and are there just for softcore porn and end up forming almost a cult around some "popular" cosplayers is definitely weird.

I don't partake in cosplaying, the most I ever did for halloween was some fake vampire fangs and some fake blood. No effort was put into the attire.

But I generally enjoy seeing others dress up and having fun, playing pretend.
