In any any case, I'm not removing either one of the previous accounts, they're borderline but not really malicious. We don't have a strict no extra accounts policy, we just ask that people don't go crazy with it and don't try to game the system, which these accounts don't appear to be doing. Regarding kajia I don't understand why it's okay to have two accounts which overlap by having two votes for the same thing(s) from the same person (I understand scenarios like having one account for normal stuff and another for hentai, for example), even if the votes aren't extreme or gaming the system much, and I imagine many others think the same. Can this be explained, please?  If you're stingy then click on CLuClu! Please consider supporting the end of disenfranchisement on MAL. Purpose is subjective, therefore quality is subjective. |
Because we're not out to kill every single duplicate account, we're only trying to prevent certain people from making dozens of accounts to significantly affect the scores. In a perfect world, everybody would only have one account but as you said, people might need other accounts for hentai or people might make new accounts when they forget the password to their account. I don't think it's practical to enforce this as strictly as you might like and I don't think it matters enough. We're only trying to eliminate trolls, not people who, for whatever reason, might need 2 or even 3 accounts, as long as the accounts not malicious. |
