| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Yes! Taka is out of the tournament! Finally! On the other hand, if Machiru always looked like she does in the bottom of page 18, I wouldn't mind watching their team some more. It's really amazing how a little difference in scaling of iris and pupil changes her entire face. |
| For me this was one of the better chapters of Beach Stars in a long time. It had emotion and suspense in good doses. The development of Michiru has been nicely rounded off in two short chapters, and her father showed himself able to understand what was best for his daughter. The mangaka seems to convey the feelings of the father very well indeed. I'm still suprised Michiru and Taki lasted 3 matches, given they've only been playing for a short time and never competitively together. They certainly seem to be playing above the level of skill that they should actually possess. But perhaps the determination not to lose, and the enjoyment of playing with your friends makes up for the gulf in talent at the end. 4/5 |

| Oh good they didn't pull off the miracle win. I have to admit I was worried about that. Michiru's little arc is over now so we can concentrate on the team that actually has a shot in this tournament. |
