I guess as a bit of a fan of Japanese culture, this is something I should be a little comfortable with, but it still annoys me that people can't see the wrong in it. I mean, theres no problem in liking it (Who am I to say what people can like?) but it still isn't the same thing. Sex as a theme is usually touched upon in the more mature romances as a symbol of love and affection, not as a bit of eye candy. The thing with sex and violence is a little odd. I've always thought violence is a much worse thing to have shown than a womans boobs. It really is a difficult topic to touch on because of the way it is. None the less, to find every excuse to show a girls pants in a zombie apocalypse is a little creepy. |

Some will not read it no matter how you convince them and will just stick to the anime. Let them wait for and watch the next episodes without any idea what's in store for them as I'm sure they'll enjoy it as much as we read about it in the manga :D |

And in Kuroshitsuji, it's pretty obviously there, but you can ignore it. It's unlikely to damage your enjoyment of the show. (Though Grell and the naked dog guy are overdoing it a bit). Here, the fanservice is just really, really out of place. This is a show that could (mostly) be taken seriously without it, generally makes a good dramatic atmosphere and takes itself seriously, and then for some reason there's panty-shots everywhere. I mean, imagine playing Silent Hill, and Heather's wearing a bikini. It'd just be really fucking distracting and out of place. Not to mention it just kills what might have been some really good moments. I mean, the scene where those two girls get eaten by zombies. If they had simply cut the BFF crap out of the dialogue, and removed the pointless panty-shot, that scene would have been fucking disturbing. Because they left them in, it was just Narm. |
