| Hi everyone! I just joined, so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is... a mystery. =p Just call me by my username or whatever shortened version you'd like to come up with. I'm 19 years old, and live in California. I hope to get out soon. Haha. It hot, expensive, and overcrowded and I really don't see the appeal. Lol. I've been watching anime, unknowingly, since I was seven years old when the first Pokemon episode aired and the first series I watched, knowing it was anime, was Fruits Basket and it is definately the reason I'm here on MAL today. Though it wasn't until three-ish years ago that I became an addict. I enjoy all anime genres, and have not come across one that I don't like. My favorite anime is Baccano! and my favorite manga is Full Metal Panic!... haha! Just realized they both end in exclamation marks! xD I don't see myself ever stopping watching anime. I highly enjoy it, and I see no reason to stop, because I doubt I'll ever get bored considering how many series there are and will be in the future. One day, I'll show my kids anime and I hope they take to it like I have. =] Well... that's all for now. |

I live in the USA, Florida to be exact, and I really don't like it all that much here ^^" Hot weather, humidity, brutal sun... the only good things really are the pools and the thunder stroms~! x3 I have been watching anime for... well, for as long as I can remember. I loved Dragonball and Sailor Moon as a kid, and later enjoyed Pokemon~ It was about 4 years ago when I actually discovered what anime and manga were though, and I've been a rabid otaku since ^^ I love all kinds of anime (though less shojo >>") and will give almost anything a try~ I don't ever see my addiction ending either. While browsing MAL i stumbled across this club, was deeply moved by the words on the intro page and decided, that i should definitely join- so thanks for approving =) I dislike school/slice of life genre, albeit there are dozens of great things even there =) My fav is Claymore and the best anime i've seen recently is Blassreiter. And of course i like BlackRockShooter, considering my interest in Vocaloids. Currently, Megurine Luka with her "Luka, Luka- Night Fever" is the one i adore. | Hello everybody My name is Rasmus, I'm from good old Denmark, the country of vikings, fairy tales (lol totally wrote "fairy tails" at first) and legally downloadable anime. I've been watching anime since i was young, though unbeknownst to me untill later. Then i began watching naruto, but when i ran out of episodes I just stopped watching anime. It wasn't untill last year that i begun watching anime again, where i started out with... Was it Deathnote? Either way, my favourite genré is romance and comedy. Seitokai Yakuindomo, which I've resently seen for instance, is going on my favourite top 5 ;o) EDIT: Oh, btw. I'm 18 years old (As of 11th september). ;o) /Rangle over and out |

The first one were Doraemon, Kuro-chan, Sailormoon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Mojako, Sugar a little Snow Fairy, Daa! Daa! Daa! and I forgot the rest. DX My relatives keeps on telling me that I'm too old for 'cartoons' as what they have known anime is. But srsly, cartoon and anime are different things. I work as a Call Center Agent while anime and manga serves as my stress relievers. It helps me forget the tiring working hours, pressures and all the negative effects you get from work. My favorite genre would be Action, Comedy, Romance, Sci-fi, Shounen and Shoujo. And that's all I think? X3 |

Pretty much everything you could want to know about me is on my profile, particularly the quotes section. That entire list is actual quotes from myself, some of which are taken farther out of context than others. My personal favorite personal quote: "Is it like a muffin?" I practically live in the manga section of barnes&nobles, though ive never really updated the list, and i hang out at what i guess you would call an animanga store considering thats about all thats sold there. Started Watching Anime on some Spanish Channel(im Portuguese) like 6 years ago ... and at first i was shocked, cause in that channel at 00:00 am started airing either Hentais or Extremely violent Animes (Elfen Lied beein the one i recall) after 2 years or so i Started watching Naruto and since then i haven't Stoped ... even bringing myself to watch what once Shocked me xD ... and i now can't be without watching at least 2-3 ep of episodes of something per day ;D I love Sports, Soccer beeing my favorite ... | I am new to this club. I have been on MAL for years but haven't been active for about 3 years. I am Rae, Reya, or Chirayo. I have been watching anime since I was very little. I was born in Okinawa, Japan and even though I didn't have a clue what they were saying they were some of the few TV shows we could get. When my family moved back to the US I continued to watch a few anime (now I could understand it). My first favorite anime was Sailor Moon (Japanese version only). And I have been a Haruka/Michiru fan ever since. I have since added a lot more anime to my love-love list. I am currently 25 (just turned so on Jan. 8). I live in Washington state with my fiancee and my two dogs, Hunter (2yr) and Berkeley (2months). I am very open about everything so please, any questions ask. It has been a while since I have dipped my toes in the social world of anime and I could use a few friends. |

Of course I've seen Sailor Moon or General Daimos when I was a little kid but I didn't know that was anime in that time (from my point of view it was just another cartoon :P). Currently I prefer to read manga and manhwa instead of watching anime because I don't have so much time for it. :/ I also read a lots of books (mostly fantasy) and comic books ("Preacher", "The Darkness", "Fury", etc.) but I don't consider myself as a geek. | This is a copy paste from my profile About Myself Watching anime is pretty much something I have enjoyed doing for over 2 decades now. If I trace it back, my fascination probably started back late 1980s or early 1990s when I was like 4 or 5 years old with shows like Voltes V, Voltron, Transformers, Shaider, Maskman, Bioman, as well as cartoons like Ghostbuster, Denver, Care Bears and GI Joe. As years pass, I eventually learn to differentiate the difference of that of the Japanese and the American animations by simple looking at the intro and ending songs which features a kind of symbols/characters different from the English Alphabet that I'm so familiar with and say "Oh! It's Japanese," and later discovered how the Japanese animations (The term anime is not yet in existence at those times) has intricate story details that I found lacking on shows that I see as American made, hence I started getting really hooked to them. As I enter primary education, Tagalog-dub animes became prominent in the 9-11am and 3-5pm time-slots of major TV broadcasters. Using our own language instead of having English ones I believe was a very good choice because it reaches a broader audience which includes kids my age that time and also younger teens. The late 1990s came and I consider it the Golden age of Anime in my country, the Philippines. It was the days when they started and differentiate Japanese animations as "anime." There is even a TV Station that has its prime-time (7-9pm) almost only anime shows. Of course it is a short live one, eventually anime goes back again in its usual morning and afternoon time slots. Years later almost all anime are gone with the only series being introduce in the country being only shounen animes and re-runs/replays of previously showed series. And now as we reached the year 2010>>> From time to time, there is a revival of anime in my country thanks to some TV stations with not enough local programs and uses anime instead to fill up their broadcast airtime, and when it happens, I say to myself "It is all Good!" The lack of anime in my country doesn't stop me from being a fan though, the wonders of the internet had helped me explored an unimaginable large resource of anime, some which I never thought even existed. |
