Well, I'm an all-out anime watcher, because everyone knows I spend my time doing this. It's the only way I can explain to them why I'm still sane after being trapped in my house and not allowed to leave it during school days. I admit to everyone, and even recommend, i watch anime.

I am, however, a secret otaku. I'm not willing to admit that.

Except from one person that also likes anime and comes to me sometimes for suggestions (he watches anime series but he has no idea about the anime world and the anime that exist out there. If you say the word otaku to him he doesn't know what it means) people don't know that i watch anime. But i don't keep it a secret or anything. It just happen that way. I have no problem to say that i watch anime.

I don't hide it and my closest friend knows that I watch anime.

It's just that i don't tend to talk about it, unless someone else wants to.

I don't generally talk about it, but if someone were to bring it up I'd be glad to talk to them about it. I'm pretty sure most of my family/friends/acquaintances know I watch it, but that's about it. I don't talk about it with non-fans usually.

I let everybody know. That way people have an idea of what kind of gifts to offer me. ^_____^

I also teach what it is when people look at me puzzled. And make recommendations when people look interested. I love it so much that I want to share it with everyone. xD

Same-ish. I'm not one of those fans that talk about it 24/7. Thats just pathetic. If someone shares the same interests in anime like I do then by all means we talk anime.

Probably also one of the reasons why I haven't joined my University anime club/society yet, I get enough anime at home - I don't need more at school too. @_@

It's probably more fun if you talk about it in school I think. No point enjoying it yourself if you got nobody else to talk to about it in my opinion. I guess people can chat about it on the Internet, but I guess I see it more *real* in reality.

These two opinions together are fun because in a way I would NEVER enter an anime/manga club (even though colleges here don't have that sort of things) but my friends are my friends exactly because we can discuss anime with each other. Even those that never watched it find it amazing to listen to our debates, since they are so... /passionate/ xD

I don't think that anybody in my former school didn't know that I was an Anime/Manga fan since I read manga in school (and sometimes ever brought the laptop for anime XD) and I spent my time with the other anime fans and so on, so I don't think I'm being so secret sbout it >___> :3

Only my family really know I watch anime.. and occasionally I talk to my brother about mangas/animes. None of my friends are really interested in it though.. I know a few people from my school who bring manga in/go to conventions and such but they're a very close-nit group so I feel like I'm intruding if I just go up to them and talk about it x_x But like if someone from school asked me about anime, I wouldn't mind telling them I like it and have a conversation about it, just so far that hasn't happened lol.

Yes! x_____x I'm pretty sure I'm allowed though, my brother watches anime, and whenever my parents walk in his room to see him (while he's watching) they don't seem to care. @___@ ... Although, I'm not sure whether or not my brother knows I watch anime.

My family and friends know and I talk about it a lot with them. My friends are all anime geeks too. My family could really care less, although my mom does love to work on cosplay with me.
I have a few anime pins and buttons on my school bag, and I've had a few people ask me about those. I've also got a shirt that says 'I read manga' on it, but nobody has really said anything about that yet. So, I guess I sort of flaunt my otakuness, but not in an in your face sort of way.

i have 0 sense of shame at all, and anime isn't something to be ashamed of, however just as i don't tell people about my bowl movements or such i don't just shout out Gintama Owns You All, even though it's true there really isn't a need to tell people, however if it comes up in a conversation i'm 100% fine with talking about it and admitting than i am a spare time otaku

My family knows but they don't really care for it themselves. Most of my closer friends watch it at a casual level, so there are a few discussions about it amongst us. If asked I will proclaim that I do watch it, but that is usually the extent of my output about it. So, I'm more of a secret hardcore fan but not a secret fan.

I'm not gonna watch that shit out in the open

It is a bit embarrassing, somehow. If someone were to ask me what I plan to do later I would refer to anime and manga as TV shows/movies and comics. I barely watch anime, though.
