Anyone know any other good anime that feature mahjong? I don't have too many.

I'm pretty sure it's only the two listen in this Club. Add Kaiji and I think you have all the gambling animes.

Well, for the pure purpose of annoying you Tori, I must point out The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya does have a small clip of mahjong in a montage during Remote Island Syndrome I.

But no, I know of no other Mahjong-centric anime. Akagi is already pretty damn good as far as that goes, so it's okay.

Found one. The same group that does Akagi in manga is now doing Saki, a more light-mood Mahjong comedy. Also, I know of a couple more gambling anime, like Pachislo Kizoku Gin, though it's not subbed. http://www.anzwers.org/free/animeintro/gin.html

Nana. Like the 90% of the characters are mahjong addicted. Especially Shin, Yasu, Miu, and Nana Osaki.

Those must be pretty obscure, I can't find entries for them on MAL. Maybe someone should make some. Sounds interesting, though. Do you have links/pics?

Niico uploader says 1995. Which was also the same year Naki no Ryu and Akagi both got a live action movie.

lol, obscure. They're in the database since ages desu. I thought posting their names and the animanga title was enough, who doesn't know Nana? >_> Anyway, here.

Added the ones from Kindai. Good catch, thanks.

I wasn't saying Nana was obscure, it's freaking top 30/60 material. I mean, I had to categorize it no less than twice while stat collecting for my blog on why sequels break the anime toplist (which they totally do, btw). I didn't add it because, by my view, shows that happen to include mahjong aren't the same as mahjong shows, and they deserve more of a mention than they do an add. I don't care to argue that point much.

While I was reading Akagi, I noticed in the rants that the scanalator was going to pick up the manga Ten, which is a sequel/spin-off kind of thing
so could someone please add this manga to the list?

Ten's actually been on the list since the club inception. It's also scanlated to about a third of the way through by a guy who releases 4-5 chapters a week.

BTW, you can get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/TenManga

Sorry for my mistake, I didn't know where the mahjong-oriented anime/manga were placed at this club.
I though, I had to mention all the mahjong related anime and manga at the topic, since Ten wasn't recommended, I though it would be ok.

Global political figures such as The Pope, Kim Jong Il, George W. Bush and recent Japanese Prime Ministers play riichi mahjong against each other.
