Bonjour!

In honor of the atmosphere of July and its importance in American history, I feel that we should watch something of an over the top, spectacular nature. So the theme for this month is EPIC!!!!!!!! This does not limit the nominations to a particular theme, so think of the most EPIC shows from 4 (or less) genre combinations.

As such, we shall nominate in the following fashion (these are also my nominations for the month):

-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - ACTION/MECHA
-Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei & Zoku SZS - COMEDY/PARODY
-Umineko no Naku Koro ni - MYSTERY/HORROR
-Durararararararararara - ACTION/SUPERNATURAL (I see what I did there.....)

Going forward I would like to enact a few policies to streamline voting and nominations.
1. Post Nominations in the format [SHOW TITLE] - [PRIMARY AND SECONDARY GENRE]
2. If you are interested in a show nominated by a previous poster, use it as one of your nominations. This means that the show will have higher vote count at the opening of the final poll.
3. Short Series can be nominated, but must be nominated with more shows which would place the total number of episodes between 22 and 30.

You can nominate multiple shows from the same genre combination, but realize that it doubles the weight of that genre combination and halves the chances of either selection being used as a final poll contestant.

So is this round of voting going to determine the category, to be followed by another round of voting to determine the specific anime within that category?

No offense Salexin- it's an interesting voting system and I approve of the effort put into it, just not sure if I'd like every month's "nominatrix" to be so complex.

I hope my chosen series are epic enough to fit the bill. I didn't want to second Gurren Lagann as I've seen it already, but it deserves to have "epic" as its genre.

I'm not really trying to make it complex, I just want everyone to get a shot at nominating something. I feel like I am forcing shows on people when I choose the theme and then we vote on a small amount of choices. I thought a general theme which could pull from every genre would increase participation a bit.

Maybe my wall of text is a little off-putting. :-/

As per dwhee's critique, the system is slightly more complex. I am going to go ahead and assert that Durarara as the month's anime. I base this decision on the poll and the comments in this thread.
