If I hadn't read the credits I wouldn't have figured this show was of (partial) Japanese origin at all. The theme song sounds straight out of the old Asterix films.

Anyway, I'm coming to this series with none of the nostalgia some people have for it, but the epic adventure trope is something I can't resist. Hopefully it strives for the same heights as Laputa and Nadia.

Not a bad start, was pretty good actually, I'm particularly interested in Mendoza, they seem to be sending a lot of mixed signals about him.

And like watkinzez I never saw It as a child either In fact I never even heard of this show before a few days ago, though in that short time I've heard very good things about it,hopefully it lives up to the hype.

The way Pedros mouth/chin is drawn looks as if he was a chimp.

How would anyone be able to use his power for something evil? I mean, he supposedly can make the sun shine and that's it.

But you can clearly tell that his show is meant for children by the way it feeds you everything with a silverspoon.

A rather mediocre start.

I can't find japanese episodes of this anywhere its crazy.
Its easier finding japanese SUBS than finding video of it

The greatest adventure ever animated. Brilliant characterizations, brilliant music, amazing voices, glowing animation. I watched it as a kid in the 80's, it's magical to me and I've bought it on DVD and can't wait to watch every episode which is something which wasn't possible on tv as a kid. It's stunning, even better watching as an adult
