| The Record of Lodoss War OVA. I'd seen an episode or two of other things on TV before I watched Lodoss, I suppose, but it's the first full series I watched. Ultimately, though, it's probably SNES RPGs that got me into anime. Elementary-school-aged me figured that if all those great games could come from Japan, there must be something to those weird cartoons. |

| It all started with DBZ and Sailormoon. The first good anime series i watched was Kanon tho (the 2002 version). Well, it's not exactly the first good one, there were others but i can't remember. Kanon was the one that got me hooked tho. |
| I had seen a few episodes of Pokemon, Totoro and four episodes of Bastard (oddly enough) by the time I was 12, but I really had no idea what anime was at the time. I actually started reading manga before watching anime. The first anime I actually watched, knowing what it was and what it was all about was Yami no Matsuei, after that my wallet has never been the same. ^^ |

| I watched shows like Bleach and Eureka Seven for quite awhile on TV without really being a big fan of anime. I think Chobits really piqued my interest and started me on watching TV shows on the computer. Shuffle! got me hooked to fansubs. 70+ series later and I'm still going. |

| Bleach, on a recommendation of some friends. Started with the dubs tho but then the dubbed episodes ran out. Switched to subs since there were more episodes released . And that's when I started watching fansubbed episodes for the first time. Since then I have been watching some of the better shows and I'm not planning to quit it soon. |

What really got me going was Cowboy Bebop on the late-night Cartoon Network block, [adult swim]. It really woke me up to the fact that animation doesn't have to child-oriented. |

| Dubbed - Probably Pokemon or DBZ or something. Subbed - Yu Yu Hakusho was one of my last dubs and it motivated me to LOOK for subs, so my first sub would be... probably... Fullmetal Alchemist... because I hated it dubbed =/ |

| same here...i've been watching anime for a long time now...Yu Yu Hakushu and Sailor Moon was one of the first animes that i've watched...but even then i was watching only it like any other cartoon or should i say like any other TV show. The one that got me really hooked into anime was Fate/Stay Night and that was only around a year ago...so it isn't exactly the same as "The First Anime You Watched?" |

| When I used to watch Pokemon, I didn't even know what anime was, so I couldn't even get interested in watching them. Reading what the OP said, the one that "got you started watching anime" would be the one that got you interested in anime. |

DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho were the first animes that i saw but i never liked them and they didn't spark my interest on anime.... it was Voltes V, Daimos, and Escaflowne that did the trick.... a local channel were airing back then a tagalog dubbed version of the first two, and an english dubbed version of the last one.... |

| yeah like many others firsts were dragonball z, sailor moon and pokemon. i remember as a kid id get up real early before school to watch cheese tv (an old aussie morning kids show) to watch dbz and pokemon with my little brothers lol. but what really got me started watching anime was naruto and bleach, which i watched due to two of my friends constant nagging to watch them lol. they later recommended darker than black, which i love. and then i found d.gray-man and black cat. oh and we studied howls moving castle in school (for multimedia) so yeah thats not really one that got me into it, but due to all of the above i am now hopelessly hooked =D |

| Sailor Moon dub got me permanently hooked on anime. I had watched anime before, both of which I knew and didn't know was anime. However, when I saw Apollo Smile on Ch. 26 The U cosplaying as Sailor Moon and then they showing Sailor Mars' first henshin sequence I got hooked. |

| First of all, I'm already watching anime in dubbed version from our local TV. Like Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Flame of Recca, YuYu Hakusho, SlamDunk, and Knockout. Then, here goes Ragnarok: The Animation. First of all, I'm not really into anime. My passion that day would be playing Ragnarok Online. When I've heard about the anime of Ragnarok. I've downloaded it. My first ever, subbed anime I've watched. Then, I'm now bonded with anime and started searching for more. I started with YT streaming, Love Hina; Onegai Teacher series; and then comes Naruto and Bleach. Then it goes up to now. Downloading from the fansubber's site. ^^ |
