 Makoto Yukimura, the creator of Vinland Saga, posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday that the manga will end in the next chapter. The 220th and final chapter will be published in Afternoon's September issue, to be released on July 25.Yukimura began drawing the action adventure manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in April 2005 before moving to Afternoon in December that year. Kodansha published the 28th volume last June. WIT Studio adapted the manga into a 24-episode television anime in Summer 2019. A second season produced by MAPPA aired in Winter 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime series with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in October 2012 and began releasing the title in 2-in-1 hardcover omnibuses in October 2013. The 14th omnibus volume went on sale on May 27. | Please give us two more seasons to adapt this to completion, it's the least it deserves! On a different note, we ought to give our gratitude to Yukimura-sensei and I look forward to seeing what he does next (provided he's willing to share that of course). |

| @deg Yes, I have. That's why I say the manga's ending probably won't be (too) dark. Watch Planetes if you want to know how optimistic the author is about multiculturalism. I periodically clear my ignore list, it's not a big deal. And even so, I still see comments. |

| It was pretty obvious with how the latest chapters went, but man, this ending after all these years wasn't something I was looking forward to. I have mixed feelings with the last arc but this really has been a journey. |
