 The official website of the Kaijuu 8-gou (Kaiju No. 8) anime series unveiled two new cast members, opening theme, and the main promotional video for the second season on Thursday. The second season adapting Naoya Matsumoto's action sci-fi manga will begin airing on July 19 at 11:00 p.m on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels. X (formerly Twitter) will also stream the anime simultaneously.The first season aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with multiple subtitles and dubs. A special side story episode, Hoshina no Kyuujitsu (Hoshina's Day Off), screened in theaters in Japan for three weeks beginning on March 28. The episode will also air on television on July 5 at 11:00 p.m, as well as stream on X. Cast Eiji Hasegawa: Hiroki Yasumoto (One Punch Man) Rin Shinonome: Kana Hanazawa (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) Singer-songwriter Aurora is performing the opening theme "You Can't Run From Yourself," previewed in the promotional video below. Shigeyuki Miya (Blood Lad) is returning to helm the anime at Production I.G. Yuuichirou Kido (Dr. Stone) is handling the series composition, replacing Ichirou Ookouchi. Tetsuya Nishio (Vampire in the Garden) is also returning as the character designer. Yuuta Bandou (Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime) is reprising as the music composer. Naoya began drawing the manga on Shounen Jump+ in July 2020. Shueisha published the 15th volume on March 4. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2021 and released the 13th volume on June 3. The 14th volume is planned for a September 2 release.
