How do you react to this other world?
You're bored and reading a random ecchi manga on your phone, it's not a theme you like, but this one is so weird and stupid you read it out of morbid curiosity, then, it was the best thing you've ever read to the point you can't process why, calling it The Holy Grail. Then you go to sleep. Then it's the next day. If every ecchi in anime, games, books, everything just disappeared today. Hard ecchi like senran kagura, highschool DxD is flat out wiped from existence, no trace of it. Any regular anime with fanservice like Fairy Tail, Food Wars has it removed. Skin is no longer round and shiny, you know those highlights, zettai ryouiki? Details are Gone. And then a week later the moemoe gets targeted, moe girls will still exist in very few quantities, but there are no skirt closeups anymore, yuribait will still exist but no more changing room shenanigans, no onsen, no beach, any makeout scene be sanitized to almost kiss scene, no zooming in on lips quivering even. And... are the eyes shrinking?. Also the cute little dancing in the OP/EDs are GONE. No more maid outfits or anything like that (only randomly when you least expect it, to then dissapear as soon as you've seen it). No elf girls, no catgirls or kemonomimi, no slimegirls aside from the level you'd expect in western fantasy. The elf girls are all butch lesbians, if you ever find one at all, but they do have sensitive ears and there is exactly one and only one of these girls in the hero's party that is dressed in bikini armor in a random manga, and zooms in on her ass (still butch lesbian), the only remaining trope. Harems exist, just under all these conditions, whatever that would look like. Hentai exists but there's 1/18 of the amount and there's no more monster girls, fantasy, no creativity at all, also the studio is tweaking and occasionally the camera will pan and zoom to the face completely randomly. 80% of doujins have trash art now and since all knowledge and tropes are dead now (it only used to be good because of survival bias), you find maybe 3 20 page ones that are half decent compared to the old world? You've gone on every tag on Pixiv, DLsite, FANZA but that's how it is. If you're reading this as an artist, you could do better with your eyes closed. But everyone else seems to act like it's always been that way, when you complain about the lack of fanservice they say there is plenty of fanservice, look at our beautiful sexiest waifus we freak out over, this is the pinnacle of the universe, all you could ever ask for: Other responses to your complaint include kindly telling you to seek a therapist, as your unhealthy relationship with women will cause issues in future relationships (isn't this topic about anime!?). When you try to explain the appeal of Pan de Peace! you get called gay (!?) A few months have passed now, you've been trying to find something of your old world, but something like miru tights, redo of a healer is just a fever dream you made up now, you start to wonder if The Holy Grail was just a random dream you had, the only proof it existed is that the world has gone to shit now. Was it worth this? Then you play a mobile gacha game, it has seifuku DLC, something that doesn't exist in any game anymore, you start to hope and play it. It's a sci-fi game so you're thinking, maybe you can finally see a tight bodysuit again, it's literally a battle sci-fi game after all. NOPE, nowhere, in this world that concept doesn't even exist. Asuka? choose between SWAT-style tactical combat gear, or maybe a trenchcoat, which one is better? However, sailor moon and it's likes are totally untouched since they're shoujo anime, it's come to the point that's the only place you can find something like it. This is your new world. | @deg censorship laws in Japan are still the same, if anything there is less uncensored hentai since less people have sailed the high seas in a group effort to obtain it, Japanese artists don't make it easy to find their uncensored art, unless there's something I don't know. |

Isekai is dry since escapist fantasy was kind of the point which always includes some kind of fanservice. The husbandos will keep being turned gay, the world is unfair. |

| Well, I'd mainly stop watching anime and go back to movies/tv show. Without the bishoujo, moe, and Japanese degeneracy, the medium isn't really that unique. Watching a rom-com wouldn't be very different from watching a J-drama; watching a shonen wouldn't be very different from watching some Marvel. Maybe once in a blue moon something like Attack on Titan would make watching anime worthwhile. |

| Well, there seem to be 2 viable options. It is what it is (bargaining): The obvious one because I'd be pretty much unaffected by everything described in the initial post :) I could just continue living my life, enjoying BL and other things, thinking that I had a weird hallucination or a dream... But the other option is a lot more intriguing... Smack people into their senses (anger): Not literally, but I'd probably be quite frustrated by people constantly dismissing everything I tell them about how the world should actually be. There is clearly some kind of an unnatural anti ecchi/moe/fanservice conspiracy going on, so can I really just ignore it and pretend like nothing is wrong? I should probably rely on my intuition and try to carefully get to the truth and expose it in some way! So yeah, I actually choose this option in pursuit of the truth :) I should at least try for the sake of those who were affected by this unexplainable change. |
