Great episode as always.

My random question for this week - how many episodes does everyone think it'll take before we have seen every top 10 hero on screen? I know the episode schedule, but we've seen some heroes ahead of time. When do we reach critical mass?

Why does this show have to make me suffer every week why can’t we have just a nice episode where everyone gets to enjoy the fruits of their labor without a cliffhanger death 😭 FUCK NOT SHANG CHAO. I didn’t even get to apologize for assuming bro was a bad guy last week.

Owe Shang the biggest apology ever man. 100 percent thought he was pulling the strings behind the scenes and turns out he’s one of the best friends you could ask for. He, Yang and Xia were really starting to give off Peter Parker, Harry Osborne and MJ vibes.

It’s so crazy how fickle society can be. Everyone believes what they see online without question, like y’all were just praising Yang as this new E soul hero and now y’all just instantly believe he’s a fraud and set up the kidnapping for publicity?? If Yang and Xia didn’t have Shang/enlightener on their side and have the actual dashcam footage, it’s no telling what sort of false confession they would’ve been railroaded into. Never admit to something you didn’t do!

THAT ENDING BRO?! The writers took Thanos too seriously. Why is everyone going for the head 😭 no way Shang really gone like that man. I kept getting death flags between Xia and Yang because she kept harping on promises and the vibe was just off there, but I didn’t think it’d be Shang getting killed!! Is this gonna be the start of Yang’s villain arc that leads into the Moon/Lin Ling cliffhanger? Who actually planned the kidnapping.. 😩 episode ended too fast I need the next one

Rock is milking Yang for all he's worth lol. So it's official boys—Xia is in love with Yang. The way she was talking to him and those subtle hints from our POV made it clear, but as always, Yang is still doubting and trying to hide his true feelings—not just from her or others, but from himself.

Yang had it rough with E-Soul and his team coming after him, even forging evidence and making the kidnapping look like it was instigated by him. This isn’t something an association related to heroes is supposed to do, but if it hadn’t been for Enlighter, bro would be behind bars.

It was such a sweet moment when Xia told him that if he knows who he is and what he wants, then "he’ll have her unconditional support."

There we go with another cliffhanger involving someone dying—it’s like this has become a trademark of the show. I always suspected Shang of having some ulterior motives, but the way he was so happy at the end, wanting to surprise with a new suit, and now that he’s been shot... I’m not so sure anymore.

Yang Cheng is a new and exciting underdog with the will of the people behind him. The older generation is still fond of the original E-Soul, but the kids don't have the same level of appreciation. Shang Chao was right to help Yang Cheng capitalize on that opening.

But when you mess with the big guys, you take a lot of risk. Those false allegations of staging the kidnapping had Yang in a dark place for a moment there. It's the people around him like Xia Qing that keep him fighting for what's right. Enlighter showing up again to get the truth out made for a nice addition.

Heros are always losing their closest allies... Shang Chao getting taken out like that was devastating. What a heavy blow to our rising star.

Every single time, there is some kind of brutal scene that leads to a horrible cliffhanger. This week is no exception. Well, I was afraid that he would steal the girl from our MC, but I guess we put that one to bed. At least it wasn't the female lead THIS time. Man my heart is going to experience a coronary one of these episodes! Solid suspense as always!

Enlighter is actually the goat! Like, actually, what?! I could not believe my eyes when he showed up. His aura recovered so fast

We still don't know who's behind the original kidnapping, but it seems like Shang Chao's murderer was hired by the same person. I wonder why they would want to kidnap Pomelo, and also why they wanted to get rid of E-Soul after. Also, how the heck did the thug know where the group meets to develop Yang's gear? Someone powerful doesn't like the new E-Soul, I think, but I still don't get why Pomelo was the target of a kidnapping ostensibly orchestrated by the same person (the encrypted call suggests this).

It's interesting to see Yang's perspective on E-Soul change so quickly, from that of an inspiration to that of a competitor. In the episode 7 preview, he even challenged the original E-Soul to a duel. In my opinion, he's definitely in the wrong and Xia is correct: he needs to face himself and realize that people trust him because he protected Poemlo.

I also want to know what E-Soul thinks about all of his hard work becoming seemingly erased so quickly. It's like what the businessman said to Rock: the original E-Soul has all of these scars from battles, and for what?

Shang Chao was such an obvious "twist villain", it's actually surprising to see he was NOT one. I actually thought Xia Qing is going to be taken down, especially with how many death flags she raised this episode.

Don't tell me it's all her doing. As for the reason... I don't know, maybe she's OG E-Soul's daughter that tries to win daddy's approval or something.
It's either her or the bar owner, he looks a bit fishy to me...

That was really stupid at the end. They show e soul speeding up looking like he could intercept or at least almost intercept. Then you hear two gunshots while e soul is standing still. Next cut e soul gets there at the same time as the girl?

I know it’s nit picking but that kind of just made the scene had no believability to me.

@JAWZ2003 there was only one gunshot tho, the other "boom" is just the bullet casing hitting the ground, they just made it loud and added reverb for dramatic effect i guess

Yang Cheng got ultra popular and ofc the og E Soul group wasn't gonna let that slide to save their popularity, their shitty attempt was to no avail though. I wish both Yang Cheng and Xia Qing would be just honest about their feelings cause it's been damn obvious they like each other. I really wanted the ship but after that ending, yeah.

Bruh at this rate we going to have at least one death every arc lmao. That being side, the blood wound from the top part of his head could mean it missed his vitals.

I was wondering why people were shunning Yang Cheng for having 0 trust value. I thought every civilian or non-hero had 0 trust value, but I guess it's something everyone has. And Yang has 0 because his parents are dead. There's also the question of the threshold of giving/gaining trust. His friends, the kids that showed up to his plays, and his uncle didn't give him any trust value before he became E-Soul. Shang Chao said love, respect, and admiration were what gave trust. So nobody loved Yang Cheng before he became E-Soul, including Xia Qing. I thought she secretly had some kind of affection for Yang before he became E-Soul but I guess not. Seems like she's dropping huge hints on Yang now, but he still won't take it for some reason.... Also, Yang was disappointed forgot the concert tickets at home, but couldn't he just flash his way home and back?

Why did Yang's E-Soul power not work at the end? The gunman had enough time to get onto his motorcycle and escape before Yang even got to Shang Chao's body. Was it the rain and it was too slippery/risky to run on? Or is water an inhibitor to his powers, it being electric and all? Yang probably going to do something rash now, that affects his trust value. Gunman was probably sent by OG E-Soul himself or his company. Still can't make out what kind of person he is behind the mask. Is he upset/mad, or just chilling? He seems to have a lot of history as a hero.

Also Enlighter being an actual hero this episode. Nice.

What a wtf ep

We start with a rise in his trust value and Yang is able to become popular, after the visit.

There's even moments where there's peace and times that he can bag Xia, then Shang becomes a W mans ( excluding the fact he confessed) helping Yang become much closer to a real hero. Kind of surprised to see that Xia actually like him or more like she was waiting for him to confess, hence the "Not Yet".

Then, he gets arrested. That gold hair dude was so obvious with his evil plot and we notice OG E-Soul has one arm and once again purple lighting.

Better call Saul “I mean Enlighter” 🤣

Nice to see the goofy "Enlighter" dude again, since he was sent by Shand, I assume that's where that 249ish ranking came from. Possible hero ranking? Really exposed gold hair well. Also, high chance that Mr. Shand is Shang’s father.

Damn, Xia might have lied about the confession plus the way she defended him in the meeting (ride or die fr).🤩

Just when Shang couldn't be much more of a W mans, he even gets a suit created for him cause he cares. My fault Shang, ian kno u was built like that. Definitely gotta respect the fact that he tried to help even if we all despised him in ep5.

Sadly, bro who thought it was his friends, tries to surprise them, only to be blinded and shot by a random. Weird that Xia didn't die, had too MANY death flags.

RIP Shang, I truly wonder how we are going to finish this arc next week. What are E-Soul's true thoughts in the midst of all this chaos and his trust value plummeting. Wonder what our legendary plot twist director of link click has in store for us.

Shang Chao promoting Yang Cheng was nice and all but he's still making moves on Xia Qing. Yang Cheng should grow a spine and claim his girl. Looking at his body, The original E-Soul has really gone through a lot of hardships to be at the place he is now and it does seem like he never removes his mask. He must have started out good but ended up being a corporate puppet just like other heroes.
And that ed, they just want to end the eps with a cliffhanger/death everytime lol
Since we're moving on with the storyline of E-Soul these last 2 episodes, we can be sure that it's gonna play quite a big role in Nice's storyline as well as Moon's death.

So he's gone, i guess it makes sense since it's a cliffhanger type story, feel pretty sad.
Sadly can't think it was the worst episode yet, it had little action and a lot of setting and although it's pretty cool ngl (yes the lore is going crazy) it's an action anime/donghua so I'm always waiting for the fighting scenes each episode.
What saved it was Jeopardy during the ep went crazy at the part it rocked, yes it was hype, yet it wasn't enough to save it from bottom ep 😓

I called it in the first 5 minutes that the rich kid was gonna die, either him or her. (although he might be in coma) Everything was just going to right this episode I will say that logically he should've been fast enough especially if when he had less trust he was slowing time I'll chalk it up to him not being super experience with his powers but why show up these insane speedster feats if your gonna do the thing all writers do and just make them slower when the plot calls for it like make it so it only works while he's in the suit being esoul like they didn't have to shoe case him activating his ability only to end up lightly joking to his "friend" whose probably dead or in a coma

It feels like the director doesn't want the cliffhanger to be easy to guess since Moon
so better take off the friend instead lol

but it looks so stupid how Shang Chao died, just like how Moon died is actually so dodgeable
looking at Yang Cheng's actions against bank robbery he seems to be fast enough to stop the thug from shooting Shang Chao
Probably for dramatic moments but his death will make more sense if Yang Cheng and Xia Qing found him dead already.

- It's kinda confirmed now that the "two E-soul" in trailer is the OldE-soul vs Yang Cheng (the black one)
- Still unconfirmed whether Yang Cheng is the one who killed Moon, even with new suit it still looks different from what Ep4 E-soul wears
- E-soul that fight against Zero actually is not the same as OldE-soul due to the color of their lightning, OGE-soul use blue just like Yang Cheng, OldE-soul use purple. BUT OldE-soul is the one who saved small Yang Cheng
- Rock is suspicious, but he might have some connection with Shang Chao.

@roppuri I wish they put more effort in making the last scene more believable cuz man, you can't help but have so many questions on how his power works when we are shown he is incredibly fast. It takes away from the impact when you're left with confusion. Maybe make it so he slips on water from running too fast. Something that explains why he wasn't fast enough. It's funny cuz he was only 2 seconds faster than the girl.

Young E-Soul, the kids love him! Their moms love him too LOL XD

Will the real E-Soul please stand up. E-Souls manager really doesn't like Yang grabbing that 1%. Looks as if they are ready to play dirty too.
I honestly suspected Shang was the one who orchestrated the kidnapping in order to promote Yang, but then he goes and gets shot and with it my half-baked theory as well.
I have a feeling next week might see the conclusion of this arc. Either the E-Souls are gonna duke it out or there is going to be a passing of the torch.
